Thanks guys!:) I was really chuffed. New bed looks fab!

Jtb - I thought their selection of beds was great. Store is huge! On 4 levels and the carpark is much better than croydon because its under cover, but it was very busy! Had to queue for nearly an hour to get in!!!!

    What I bought:

    New bed
Lovely piece of art for hallway
    Plant stand
    Plant pot
    Plant
2 Cardboard boxes in red for storage on top of wardrobe in my room
    Some toys for dd
4 trofast storage boxes for kids rooms
    Bathmat
4 bottom sheets for kids beds
    4 mirrors
    Spoons

and a few other bits I cant remember:)

Have already started a list for my next visit in March/April for furniture for DD bedroom!:D

I could seriously spend a fortune in there not to mention a good couple of days:D

Will be popping to chichester this morning as I want to get some new pillows for my bed and a few other bits. House is really starting to take shape now, I might take some photos soon!:)

  • HUGE well done with ol' IKEA! That's awesome!

Bet you were well chuffed! Had you budgeted the full £200, if so are you going to use the money you would have spent in there on something else?

I have got a bit further with DD room! Have sanded down the walls which are not in very good nick :( but am ready for a base coat and a paint next week as I am off on leave for a week! And DD is on half term! Have ordered her a new bed from Tesco Direct, just a cheap one as can't afford much else if I am honest, but have promised her that hopefully in 18 months or so when I should (hope) to become debt free, I will get her a nice new one and pop the old one into the spare room or something!

Better go as am late for work...everyday I am late for work! But can't wait to have a week off :) xxx

donner - keep going with your dd room it will look fantastic when its finished:)

    hi beanie:wave:

    update:

    friday

went to chichester, bought some new bottom sheets for my bed, cannisters for my tea/coffee/sugar, a lamp (which i am taking back as it doesnt work), new school shoes for dd and socks for ds1&2.

then came back to bognor and bought new duvet and pillow for ds3 it came with mattress and pillow protectors:), 2 new pillows for me, 2 pillowcases, some hairbands for dd, 2 birthday prezzies and cards for parties ds2 was attending over weekend and a new drinks bottle for dd.

All in all a huge spend day, but I still didnt spend all the £150 I had saved the day before:D

    Saturday

Very quiet valentines day. Got chocolates and card from BF, but spent the day with my kids and had a lovely early night:) Ordered 2 giant clip frames from the internet for artwork for mine and ds3 bedroom and 2 more pillowcases!

All the house purchases come from leftover money/savings and are not included in the 4k challenge) as I had decided to do up house this year instead of save.

    Today (sunday)

Woke up at 4am had a little browse on laptop and a cuppa and then went back to sleep until 7am:)

As ds1&2 are at their dads most of today, I am planning on stripping some more wallpaper in their bedroom.

I ripped up the carpet on the landing yesterday and once I borrow/beg/steal failing that buy a stanley knife, I will be taking up the carpet on the stairs before glossing the rest of the woodwork. This carpet will not be replaced until at least beginning of May as I have some work that needs doing in the bathroom and want that done first rather than have workmen walk c**p all over my new carpet:)

Upcoming spends over the next few weeks:

I need to pay for the hall where I am having dd's birthday party. Cost £60.

My mums birthday is this month, will need to buy her a present although not sure what yet! Will discuss with my sisters this week.

Mot is due beginning of March, need to ring next week and book it in.

DD birthday due same day as Mot. Am looking into buying her a bike as she hasnt got one. She certainly doesnt need anymore toys/books or anything else as she got so much for xmas:)

I have enough money set aside to cover mot. Will pay for party next week.

    Jobs for today

    - boys room (wallpaper)
    - make some cakes in remy
    - sort out meal planner for next week
    - have a couple of items to list on ebay, take photos and list!

    Only 318 days to go:D

Had a lovely lie in this morning until 7am:) My body obviously needed it! I am loving my new bed:D

Will be spending a lot of today ironing! Have no plans to go anywhere as plenty to do around the house!

This month will be quite an expensive entertainment month with half term, but im still in budget for the year in that catagory.

Off to make a cuppa now!
