thanks for the advice choille, I always have bran flakes in the morning, not helping.

Have really struggled today. My partner has gone out so I have had a shower and put my nightie on to help put me off going outside to the shop, though I don't think I will. Here's hoping tomorrow is better, especially as I have two meetings in a row starting at 9am!

Hi ameliarate - hope you don't nip out to the shops - mind you I hear that it's quite trendy to go shopping in your jim jams - only kidding.

Maybe you are stressing about your meetings tomorrow?
Could you have an early night with a good book? I did that one night when I felt a bit jittery.

I also sometimes have a bit of chewing gum - just ordinary chewing gum if I'm feeling a bit deprived after eating.

Sorry about the nausea staying with you - hope it eases off soon.

I'm lucky that I don't live near shops - although I was over in Tesco-town today - I just glanced at the ciggie counter & walked past. I did see people smoking today in town & it looked a bit odd.
I haven't been to see a couple who are friends as they are smokers & I'm not ready for that yet.

Morning all, especially to the Champix champions :D The nausea sounds very unpleasant - reading your posts, it reminded me a bit of having morning sickness!! But you're all doing so well.............yay, way to go.
Stick with it..you won't have a bouncing baby at the end of it, but I hope you're stashing the money you are saving to treat yourself to something really, really nice.
Must be round about week 5 for me now and I thought I'd be past strong cravings, but I've been having quite a few. I think cos of this dizziness thing I've got. There's the little voice of nicotine in my head saying: ' Go on, have a ciggie. You know you want to. It might make you feel better.'
My crutch of old when something stressful's going on. What a nasty, sneaky, evil weed it is!
I don't think I'll be giving in because we all know how dizzy a fag can make you when you haven't had one for a while, and I don't need any more of that!
BTW, and slightly off topic, am I imagining things or has my post count gone back to the beginning? When I logged on this morning, my subscribed threads had disappeared too.
Mind you, could be just me or something I've done............dizzy cow!!
  • Hi all,

I'm suffering quite badly with the nausea this morning - have had it so far for about three quarters of an hour and it's only just abating. Bleurgh! To be honest though, it's a small price to pay so I don't really mind it too much. I've noticed such a difference in my pocket even at this early juncture - Don't know how I ever afforded to smoke in the first place!

Got the last meeting out of six with the girl from the Stop Smoking Service today at lunch time. I'm not sure how I'll get my letter of recommendation after today, or whether she'll give us some in advance....

    Hope you're all doing well

    xx

At the end of today it will be a full week smoke free for me. :j

Yesterday was a nightmare but fortunately I got through it and today is much better.

I have been taking a fiver out of my purse each night and putting it in a jar so about £35 now. One year will be about £1825  I thought a nice caribbean cruise next spring?

  • Well, that's me been off Zyban since Monday and I'm still doing fine, no cravings or anything. I am glad though, the tablets made me a bit down so I'm looking forward to going back to being super happy!

    Well done to everyone else!

i can thoroughly recommend Allen Carr's Easy way to stop smoking..never believed reading a book can work, but always worth a try when everything else fails..

  • Hello everyone, how are you doing?

So 2 weeks now but it seems much longer than that. The last 2 days have been difficult at times and the temptation has been there but I have not given in.

Should have had my weekly chat with the Stop Smoking person yesterday but they did not turn up due to the heavy snow - hopefully, they will be there tomorrow.

jammy dodger, you are doing so well! Didn't you start off using gum? You must have amazing will power.

    Well done, everyone :j
