Why do it then? Seriously - take your tenner (if your reviews are good enough that Dooyoo will pay out) and spend it on something you like, and make your spare money doing something you enjoy.
Why torture yourself? You're not going to get rich from dooyoo, and if you really hate it, you may find (and I don't know off hand - I don't know if I've read your reviews) that your work doesn't pass muster.
Dooyoo and its ilk are hobbies that happen to pay pennies. It's worth it for me, because I genuinely enjoy it. If this were a 'real job' I'd be livid at the poor rate of pay - I only put up with it because I don't think of it as a paying concern - merely pocket money.
Mabel, I'm not having a go at you, but I'm astonished that you would bash on with doing something on purpose, with no coersion, that you hate. Everyone loses - you're not writing your best work (because you hate it), so you're having no fun, and dooyoo are getting what isn't your best work, and so not the best content. Why do it?

Matty, it seems you always pop up whenever people mention dooyoo. Do you work for them or something? Just curious...
To be fair, I wouldn't do STP if I didn't need the money... I wouldn't do surveys if I didn't need the money... To be blunt, I would sit on my fat backside and watch tv all day if I didn't need to make money! I don't know where I'm heading with this... but y'know, would anyone do anything if it wasn't incentivised? I doubt many would do dooyoo out of the goodness of their hearts (unless they were complaining about something) but perhaps I'm wrong!0 -
Would I take the time to write reviews if I didn't get rewarded? Not a chance! Unless I wanted to complain about something!
Yes my first few were short and probably rubbish but I think my last dozen or so have been well worded, well researched (the hardship of using all them products :rotfl:) and usefull to people reading them. Would I have taken the time to write them if I hadn't known I'd get rewarded, albeit be it in pennies? Nope.
Does that make my reviews "poor"? No I don't think so...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I see your point - I really do...but....
I've done surveys - most take 10 or 20 minutes tops - and those that take longer (such as face to face interviews) are well remunerated. I've not done STP, so can't speak for that. But review writing (more so for dooyoo than for, say, Qype, due to the format and requirements of each site) takes time. To do a good review for dooyoo, you'll be spending at least half an hour - for 50p. Yes, you can (and I do) make more than that per review, but not if you're just banging out as many as possible for those 50p.
All I'm saying here is why do something that is fairly time consuming compared to other ways of making money, for so little reward, if you hate it?
You say none of us would do it were it not paid. That's true to some extent. However I still contribute the odd note to beerintheevening.com - and others - these are not paid. Helium only pays well if you're willing to invest serious time (and effort) promoting your own reviews - I've received an email from Helium itself advising me on how to do this.
I guess I'm baffled. I don't do STP because my tastes in music are rather specialised, and I know I wouldn't like it. It wouldn't earn me enough money to get past that.
I do one thing for money I really would rather not be doing - that's the job that pays my way in life. And I don't even hate that - I like the people I work with, and can put up with the work. If I hated it, I'd move on. If I didn't like review writing (and since I started at the turn of the century, I've had several breaks of over a year), I'd stop.
Again, I'm really just wondering

I completely get everything you're saying, and don't disagree (though I don't know your reviews offhand). However, there is a difference between what you're saying and saying "I hate writing reviews." I just can't imagine why one would do it if it were such a hateful activity.
I hate football, so I don't play. Why write reviews if you hate it?

because we get paid if we got paid to play football i might give it ago and i don't like football.
You seem to have picked on the hate word a lot i don;t think mm really hates writting review i think she dislikes writting reviews. also mm has not been knocking out reviews for the 50p she has been writting 2 or 3 ever good reviews a WEEK!! The ratings they have recieved are mainly very useful with some usefuls and some other lower rating from the first few reviews she wrote like most of us! MM also read and rates a lot of reviews and has a large part in the community part. Why is this wrong?
MM keep going hun you just need to find topics that interest you to write about.

Hi matty,
Yeah ok-perhaps hate is a strong word! I go through phases of writing on dooyoo, and when I get to the point of not being able to find anything to review, is i give up for a while, I dont stick around and just churn out 150 words of carp for the 50p. I write a maximum of 3 day-usually 2 and they are usually rated V useful.
i know what your saying about doing something you dont enjoy but to be blunt im not in the position of being able to do stuff I enjoy because I need to pay off my debt, I have to go to work in a minute-I dont enjoy it! Just because I dont like something it doesn't mean I dont give it my best shot.
I understand your points but I would appreciate if you didnt lump me in with the churners .0
