Hi Folks, you are all doing so well. I don't post much now but used to and since then there seem to be so many new people doing really well.
Anyway, just a couple of thoughts-when I first started posting here I was in a terrible state, drinking heavily, unwell, depressed and work and home falling apart. With the help of peeps on this thread plus going to the alcohol centre tomorrow I've been dry for 6 months. I can truly now say that my life is better now than for many years. So, just wanted to say a particular thanks today to you all, especially those kind people who helped me out on the occasions where I had no other solution but to post here that I was struggling and really did help me through.
Also, on the issue of hereditary factors and alcohol, they say at the centre that it seems to take 2 factors to trigger a problem. Some people are presdisposed to it but get through because they don't experience a particular trigger, others get in trouble because they are predisposed and experience a particular trauma like bad relationship, abuse, debt. I don't know whether it's true but it's an interesting theory.
Anyway thanks again guys and hopefully in 6 months time I'll be able to report back to you my first dry birthday!£2 savers club no.107 :j £36 so far.0 -
Sad as it may seem, I'm actually thinking of photographing my beer gut once a week and then at the end of the year putting the photo's together into a flip book style movie...so I can see the transformation from to a six pack (from a party seven)0

You can see my stomach from Google Earth, you know.0 -

Ok. Off to the gym now. Got an obsessive zeal to see the scales say "17 stone 13" tomorrow and say goodbye to 18 stone-ness.
I suppose I could think of my current weight as being 17 stone and 15 pounds, but I'd just be fooling myself, wouldn't I?0 -
you're an inspiration GP0

After two nights with a bottle of wine both nights I'm having an AFD. MAkes my total 24...can still make my target of 25....just.LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0

Well another AF day for me. Decided this morning that, although Thurs-Sat are my 'allowed' days, I wasn't going to bother. I've had a Mrs Doyle type voice in my head all day going "Go on go on go on go on go on, ye will ye will ye will ye will ye will" but have managed to override it. Very tiresome though fighting with a negative voice in your head.0

Feeling carp today seem to have picked up yet another cold, so another AFD for me bringing my total to 12 please Lurky.
Hope everyone else is ok,
Night
