Fruit and veg prices soar - Some may disappear off the shelves

Sorry but that can't be right.
I bet they could do you for vandalism or something daft like that, after all it isn't yours until you have paid for it.
Mind you, I don't even try grapes or anything like that before I buy them. Must be the way I was brought up, was always told you were in effect stealing them.
The most annoying thing is seeing people in the supermarket drinking from cans, bags of crisps etc and I suppose giving the assistant the wrapper to scan to pay for it.
IT ISN'T YOURS, you haven't paid for it yet!
you are wrong.
when you are in the veg section you are invited to CHOOSE which bits of fruit anf veg you want and which bits you want to leave behind.
Thats all I do (but with a knife).0 -
Picture the typical Tesco worker, on minimum wage whose job it is to stock shelves, sweep floor, etc. They clock MSE nut-job armed with a knife, sawing bits of vegetables and muttering to themselves about some posting on HP earlier that day that has riled them. Do they say anything, or carry on working?you are wrong.

I save stalks etc for juicing with carrot and apple. Cauliflower leaves, carrot leaves, broccolli stalks, stripped savoy cabbage. We need to get back to basics in this country ie more uk grown produce and eating with the seasons0

Hmmm......or would that be an MSE nut-job muttering to one of his other 'selves'???
Seriously, this has made me wonder about other types of retailing. Should I ask the girls in the local Ann Summers if I can try the goods out on them before I buy them???
It opens up many possibilities!Fokking Fokk!0 -
When we ran a stall selling plants, we'd get the odd nutter break something deliberately and return 5 minutes later saying 'I'd like one of these, but this one is broken. I'll offer you 50p for it.'
It didn't work.0 -
Chocolate is made from the cocoa bean. Beans are vegetables.
Fruit and Nut (my favourite) counts as two of your five a day.
Beer? Made from hops - say no more. It's a cereal, just like cornflakes.
Eating fatty foods clogs your arteries? No problem because alcohol thins your blood. Thinner blood needs less artery.
It's commonsense. Besides, dying young is environmentally friendly.

The other point is that now the government is cracking down on knife crime, can you picture the headlines?
"Stand-off in local Asda as man takes cucumber hostage. Special police negotiators flown in".
They'll have strip-search desks like the airports

I try to break off the stalks of brocolli, but I am never sure if that's allowed or not, so I only do it if nobody's looking and I feel very brave.when buying veg from teh supermarket and having to pay by weight - what i do is take a knife or scissors with me and cut of the stalks, leaves anything I will ot eat and leave it on the shelf before taking it too the till to be weighted.
This saves quite a lot of money in the long rn. For instance I cut off the stems from the broccoli and this where most of the weight is so that I only am charged for the florets. BIG MONEYSAVING!!0 -
