Paul - fingers crossed the MOT is not much more than you've estimated.
No PAD in this post to whoever is adding up.
Thank you for the good wishes.
It all came to £273 in the end which wasn't bad because the rear pads wanted changing as well as the front pads and discs (+the actual MOT charge too). Bear in mind this is a largish van so such bits cost rather more than on cars. So that 5 PADs today. 2 front. 2 rear. Plus my money PAD.
It left my small business account rather depleted but the important thing is that I didn't require access to any additional credit to stay on the road.
The only small downside was that because there was a mix-up with parts deliveries, I ended losing a full day's work. I had originally anticipated being able to work from about 1 PM.
Ah well. Brown stuff happens but I reckon I got a fair deal on the charges so I'm fairly satisfied.
I did consider trying to get a small discount due to the extra downtime and because they goofed with some parts but this is a decent reliable operator who gives a fair deal. I think it's probably bad form to irritate a small service supplier who saves me a lot of money when compared to a main dealership (and a place to which I wish to return). Sometimes you just have to bite your lip, swallow, and get on with it.0 -
