Welcome to you lillmrsmullen you will love it in here, everyone is so friendly and helpful, and there is always loads to do :D

Hi maytaurus I found the DK wool in BM too is'nt it good value? I staggered to the till with my arms full, after telling OH I didnt need a basket I wasnt going to buy anything...yeah right... well, we must take advantage of these bargains must'nt we  so I now have loads of wool and itchy fingers, but I must be patient I have 3 differnt things on needles at the mo, but I hope to get them finished tonight ;)

Kathy - ooooo how lovely another grand-baby, congrats to you all :T  :T
Shelley - Do you need any tiny bootees??? I have been doing the 'Easy on Bootees' in DK for chalkys appeal, then my friend gave me a small amount of 4ply, in cream and some pale green. I have done one and it looks quite small so I thought if you can use them I could put them in my next parcel to you.

Nothing to update today but hoping to have something tomorrow.

    Off for a knit now

  • Congrats on your news Kathy

Shezmit I've got 6 hats to post off to you at the end of the week, some of them are vents.

I've made a hedgehog as well, but he doesn't look quiet right, not as cute as the pattern picture, more like a fluffy sausage for the body lol, does anyone have any tips on how to stuff them?

    Jo xx

    Hi Everyone

Congrats Kathy on your very exciting news!
Have just stuffed 3 hedgehogs and put faces on the fuzzy little critters - preferred the knitting part for sure! I agree with you Jellybeans, they are a bit longer and skinnier than I imagined so I might try and tweak the pattern (ooooh, get me!) and add some stitches partway through the body.
Loopylisa and Mioliere gave some good advice earlier on finishing them off - thank you both for the pointers - I managed 6 (count 'em) French knots and i now have a mini array of hedgehogs! I will do some more of these I think - just need to teach DH to stuff 'em!
Shezmit will try and post my stuff tomorrow or Friday as I have some things that you requested, but on my lonesome at work so may not be able to get out.
    Take care all
  • Hi Shaz - can you PM me the hedgehog pattern, please?

    Love to all

Good morning everyone, and thanks to you all for your congratulations! I am still walking on air!

I finished another hedgehog last night. I'm pleased with the two I've made so far but may shorten the body a little on the next one; I've had to stuff them really full to get that rounded look because, like K2tog and Jellybeans's hedgehogs, they looked a bit skinny. Anyway, I've started the dinosaur that I meant to start before the hedgehog pattern came along!

Chrisbethany - you were up earlier than me this morning! I shall copy and paste the update here, then pm you the hedgehog pattern!

Shaz - I hope you don't mind me pm'ing your pattern to those who ask for it? You've certainly started something with the pattern, haven't you? I see Loving Hands want it on their site, too! There's going to be a population boom in hedgehogs this year! Thank you so much for sharing the pattern with us.

Shez - I've finished all the chicks and they will be released back to you ('homing' chicks!) this morning. I've just realised I forgot to pack in the buntings I've made, so I'll send them separately, as they're on your latest 'wanted' list. The teddies will follow at the weekend. All their body parts have been sewn up; they just need stuffing and faces!

I'm going to start a layette for the new baby, too, so I shall look through all my patterns. I think my needles and hooks are going to be very busy this year!

I hope everyone has a good day.

    I have found this website:-
    http://www.garnstudio.com/index_lang.php
Under each pattern they’ve indicated the knitting tension (in number of stitches/10 cm) so that suggested yarn may be replaced by yarn with a similar knitting tension.
New designs are constantly uploaded (and you can search the website for new ones) and...wait for it...they're free to download! Also, as if this wasn't wonderful enough, you can see comments from people who've knitted the pattern and chat in their Forum: how helpful!

who would have thought the hedgehog pattern would be so popular?
i stuff mine very full to get the rounded look too.
been working on a 24" babt blanket, but its taking ages, so today i'm going to make a start on the dinosaur toy too. does anybody else have a habit of starting things, then having loads on the go at once?
