Hi all i have just taken up knitting again and have just to finish my baby blanket then i woudl love to join in here, I am not the best knitter so woudl probably start with the smaller things, I hope I am ok to join

Hi Lilmissmullen - or course you can join us! We'd love to have you here; you're very welcome. If you read the very first post on page one of this thread, all the relevant info is there, with addresses for sending knitted items and links to other bits and pieces. You don't have to be an expert knitter; most of the things we make are simple and the patterns are available free. www.lovinghands.org.uk have lots of patterns and links to other places with free patterns, too.

Post on here when you have completed something and I'll add your name to the list. It doesn't matter how many or how few items you make; there's no competition to see who can make the most - we all fit it in with our other commitments, such as family, work and so on. Just one hat will help someone in need. If you have any questions, feel free to post them on here and someone will always be along to help!

Thanks Shaz and Chalky - as you can imagine, I am delighted! I have a scan that DS2 emailed to me and I keep gazing at it.

Chalky - I find the boobs are a real talking point, especially with male visitors!
