Yes its still the case with the ribbon i have loads here as i buy in bulk.
K2tog::: Just to let you know 3 has already flown the nest and sent £3 for our postage funds and now i am waiting on the rest to fly over from Kathy, The Flock is getting bigger and bigger each week LOL, I think i will be having a teddy picnic soon with all these bears i am knitting
Hi everyone thanks for the hedgehog pattern and the help with buntings - here is another "la la" moment - Shezmit - are you the lady who deals with preemiesuk? and did you mean you wouldnt mind putting the ribbon in ? I dont want anyone to be out of pocket for the ribbon - so shall i send any that i do to you with some money for the ribbon??? Or can you send me the ribbon (told you I was having a la la moment!)
By the way NO this week has not started good (other than i pleased for you that children are back at school - and that people are feeling better - other than Maytauraus who I hope things will improve soon - I suffer with depression and anxiety and I sympathise with you as I understand its like having those isnt it extreme tiredness etc? also sorry to hear about your Mum - that must take up so much of your very little energy) someone tried to break into our house last night - while we were in bed!!!! - luckily my husband disturbed them but as you can imagine my nerves are through the roof - on the plus side i managed to get a baby bunting (almost) finished as did not go back to sleep etc and am looking forward to tonight (in some ways) as i may manage to rattle another off - although it made me cry just at the shear size of it and to think it will be worn by a baby who didnt make it.
Anyway Im going to look at it that tommorow is another day and there are people less fortunate than me around - Writing this to you has lifted me slightly so that is something !!!
Take care ladies love and best wishes f1widow xxxx

Evening ladies I hope everyone is well.
Please can you update me with 2 Squares.
Also I don't think this is the correct place to post this as it is not strictly knitting however one of the ladies Emma who I have been knitting squares for www.algerianaction.co.uk has just posted a new appeal on her site for women who can sew to help with making washable sanitary wear.
Many of the women cannot in Algeria cannot afford sanitary wear and as a result use unhygenic substitutions. Emma made a quick pattern and has posted a photo on the site and will also put the pattern on there too of some simple towels which are washable so can be re-used.
Apologies if this is not a suitable post to add to this thread.
Algerian action also require donations of knitted garments for babies and children so is also another worthy cause that can be consideredMy mantra is "Never pay full price!"0 -
f1widow, Sorry to hear about your awful experience last night - I hope that you will have a peaceful night tonight.
Best wishes to all who are having problems and have illnesses. I will say a prayer for all the Wooligans tonight.
God Bless

Good morning all.
Maytaurus - sorry about your totals; I'll put the number of hats right in this update!
Miss Angie - the things we make don't have to be knitted only; it's the charity aspect that's important. Loving Hands has four challenges at the moment, and one of them is making fabric bags for helping to save baby puffins that have fallen from their nests! Anything that can be made to help those less fortunate than ourselves is welcome and valuable. Thanks for posting the link - my sewing is not very good, but those who are good at it will be interested, I'm sure. I can't imagine what it must be like for those poor women, when you think of all the sanitary protection that we take for granted over here.
Denton6 - welcome to you. Hopefully, Miss Angie will be able to re-post the link to the Algerian Action charity.
F1Widow - I hope you got a good night's sleep.
Well, last night I was already to start knitting a dinosaur when I found some pink/purple eyelash wool, so I started a hedgehog instead; it's almost finished, bar the sewing up, so I'll update with it here. It has a lilac-coloured nose which goes really well with the eyelash. The eyelash wool comes in such lovely colours that I'm going to make a few that aren't hedgehog coloured. I initially bought the eyelash wool to use instead of ribbon, for tying up a gift. I had bought my Mum a hand-embroidered quilt for her 75th birthday. It made a huge parcel, as you can imagine, so I bought a lavender-coloured disposable tablecloth to use as wrapping paper, and tied it up with eyelash wool that toned in with it. I have to boast that it looked really good - a bit different and, because the tablecloth was so big, I didn't have to fiddle about with several pieces of wrapping paper! I've since used the fancier yarns a few times for gift-wrapping.
The hedgehog is an easy pattern, too, and makes such a lovely cuddly toy; I'm sure it'll be one of my favourites! So, thanks to you, Shazrobo!
Shezmit - I'm still eyeing up chicks and sewing up teds! The chicks I can only do in the daylight - I find working with black wool difficult in electric light! I think it's my age!
Anyway, I'm waffling - here's the update. Hope everyone has a good day.
