Pam, have just looked up your slanted shell pattern again and fancy giving it a go possibly to lap blanket size. Can you give me an idea of how many ch I need to start with for this please for it to be the right size and the pattern still OK?

    Afternoon all.
Well it's horrible here too. Been raining more or less all day and all day yesterday as well. Only bright spot for me is that it is my lovely son's birthday (he's just come home from a fortnight in Tanzania as well so doubly enjoyable for me - I do miss him when he is not here).

Shaz - sending you good wishes and lots of hugs - hope things improve for you. Take care and be kind to yourself .......

Hi ladies - yet again I have deserted you for a couple of days (naughty me!)

Thanks to the ladies (maytaurus and ?) who gave me some cupcake patterns - found some doughnuts the other day as well - hmmm my first attempt at cake looked ok until I sewed it up - son now thinks it is a small "square" ball and kicks around house .....I must knuckle down and try to learn knitting "on the round"

shazrabo - if you ever need to talk please feel free to pm me - I often want to "stop the world and let me off" but you lot on here make me smile and it helps no end - I may not knit a great deal or be any good at knitting but the encouragement and the chat helps a great deal - anyway I will stop twittering - big big hugs to you and thinking of you xx

I have not been knitting much at all this last week - I saw a post from someone else earlier (apologies I forgot who it was...) but I too have a couple of things started - a SANDS blanket has been put at bottom of pile - a pull on hat waiting to be sewn up - another pull on hat started .....

Car boot Sunday - hubby coaxed me into the car saying "there will be bags and bags of wool there always is......" anyway 4 hours later & 6 panic attacks (it felt like 6!:eek:) all I came home with was a bag of knitting needles for £1 anyway I have sorted through and I have about 4 pairs of every size (short and long) so am really pleased - all I kept saying to hubby was "I have not seen so much as an inch of wool" - he just kept chuckling .... but it did get me out with my two men and I did enjoy being out (just about!)

Had better get dinner on have just seen the time - I have been cardmaking the last few hours as its our wedding anniversary tommorow and also needed to make 21st card and another birthday card - that was fun - have had a big sort out of cardmaking stash and put a card up at local Tesco and Somerfield with a rough list of what I have to sell - so fingers crossed I can sell some bits

Try and get back on later if not tommorow - love and hugs to you f1widow xxx
