Evening all:beer:
What a bank holiday I have had my OH has been doing some work for a old guy with bad eye site and somehow I got talked into cleaning his carpets it would have made a great episode of how clean is my house  so not a lot of knitting done today but the good news is that we went to a bootsale yesterday and I bought a bin bag of wool for £1.50 when I got it home it had 10 50gram balls of brand new wool in it :j (bargain or what) so with the wool that Shelley has given to me and my booty wool it's a good job I did the carpets today because I wont be leaving the house for a while
Have a lovely night stay warm

Good morning, everyone. I set the alarm to try and get up early but I was up too late last night and it didn't wake me up on time. I'm trying so hard to get into some sort of routine nowadays - I need to go to bed earlier!
Pam - I've pm'd you re the updating.
Maytaurus - your pics and links are brilliant - thanks!
Pippa - hope you had a good holiday.
Everyone - your totals are simply heroic - your needles must be red hot!
I still can't get back into the Loving Hands forum so I have emailed the board administrator there and asked for her advice. For some reason, it wouldn't accept my username or password, so I asked for a new password - twice - and it doesn't like any of those, either! It shouldn't matter that I'm in France because Roamin in the Gloamin can get onto it. Hopefully, it can be sorted.
The price of wool here is horrendous - at least twice the price of the UK, with no real bargains to be had and no variety. My local wool shop is part of a posh dress shop, deadly silent, and the wool is so neatly displayed that you feel you can't touch it! I have loads that I brought over with me, though, and will either buy more when I come back to the UK, or order from Kemps - either way, it will be cheaper!
I have started on a pair of crochet booties in a lemon colour - I'll probably work my way through the ball doing small things, mainly in crochet because it's quicker. I have a few other things, but will wait until I have quite a few before I post them off. I'm also trying to get things made for my new grandchild due in August. Once I can get myself into a proper routine, I should be able to get on with things more quickly.
Anyway, off to put the kettle on. The weather looks good here today - I hope it is wherever you are!

Kathy - i too noticed the price of wool in france - absolutely horrendous. my next door neighbour is in her 70's, but still knits beautifully and regularly. when i saw the wool she had (colours not as nice as the ones we get and little balls -all 50g) i asked her if i could buy her some here. i bought her 12 balls of 100g wool for cheaper than she could have bought 6 balls of 50g in france! i think it is a rip-off, especially as i know she and her husband live off a pension of €500 per month.
Had a slight panic last night - wanted to knit some "Africa squares" and went to collect some wool from the loft - only it wasn't there. i looked all over the house and eventually decided that i would just have to knit up the other wool in the house and would replace the other wool this week. then... i realised that i had had so much wool, i had put it in a box in the loft, so panic averted and buntings on the needles instead.
shelley - hope that you still need some buntings as i have decided to knit a few more!!!
have a lovely day all, i am off to do the hoovering.

Morning everyone - I see you are still the early bird Kathy. I reckon we'll end up sending you mercy parcels of wool if you run out! How lovely for your neighbour dpixie - I bet she was really chuffed.
Lovely pics Maytaurus!
Was twiddling with some crochet last night as couldn't decide what to do next as have just finished a square jumper and found this
http://www.cm-crafts.com/lunchmoneyp.htm
which I thought might be nice for the Blythswood Xmas boxes at LH so I've done a couple. I've also done a couple of hair scrunchies - I say that, but they need the elastic bit putting in and finishing...! Must decide what to do next.
Just off to take DS2 to the Drs. have a good day everyone x0 -
