Hi ladies - just finished a baby bunting so thought would pop on and see what we have all been up to today - Ive had a really "blurgh" day - spent most of day ranting at two power supply companies - aagggh problem almost sorted - I only wanted to transfer suppliers 2.5 months ago and now they tell me there is a problem and I have had to sort it out!!!!

tightas - oh no how annoying that someone took the wool - I am so  today that I feel:mad: for you ha ha - I put up a Freecyle "wanted" last week have had no replies - wool is like gold dust round here ... there is a queue at the charity shop each day waiting to pounce - its elbows at dawn - high noon - knitting needles at the ready
(whoops sorry think i really ought take one of me tablets and lay down in a dark room - I feel all of the seven dwarfs again this week I can tell you!)

Anyway am going to have a cuppa, pounce on the first ball that comes out of my bag (one of many) and cast on something before bed

Love and best wishes to you - hope you are all well (to those that are not big hugs)
    Talk tomorrow f1widow xxxx

I'm having a bleurgh time with the bodywarmer/sleepsack thingy. I think I must be the eighth dwarf today - thicky. Not sure my stitches on holders look right - or more accurately the stitching across the gap and if I do the 8 garter stitch border between button holes, the gap between the first 2 will look wrong
Think I'd best just perservere in case it turns out OK. This is the first new thing I've struggled with for ages so I'm a bit annoyed with myself.
Moan over - sorry. Going to watch Eastenders that I recorded - that'll cheer me up :rotfl:

I'm just starting my 4th preemie baby blanket and I have the wool for another - just getting into it again after a bout of flu last week. :(

Do I send the finished articles to someone on this thread or to the Loving Hands group?

If these are for our summer challenge then you just send them in to HQ here at Loving Hands - we are hoping to get a good lot of SANDS memorial blankets but any we get in other colours can be placed with our other good causes :0) :T

Keep up the good work - if you have been using the SANDS pattern to make the memorial blankets do remember that they have an error in the border part that was why I posted the original pattern from the Ray of Hope site on Loving Hands challenge for everyone - a lot of the girls have been finding it a bind making the corner to corner part (seems like it goes on forever is the usual comment) I use these as my 'no brain' knitting projects to do when I am chatting to friends or waiting in hospital or outside offices for family members :0) I can then do more challenging knits at home :0)
  • Great news girls - Loving Hands has now got two new sub groups up in the North of Scotland, three of our members (Mag, Elaine and Alana) will be spearheading the new groups which will meet in Stonehaven and Bridge of Don - we have already given them their own section in our groups pages - first meeting for Stonehaven is on 8th May and for Bridge of Don on 5th June - it is ever so exctining to have new groups forming like this :0)
  • ,How Big are Your Boobs'

Have you seen the crocheted boobs pattern on the Loving Hands forum in the patterns section? We get a few crocheted ones in so they must be easy enough to do - not a 'hooker' myself - prefer the two needle approach :0) In the last two years LH members have made over a thousand boobs which have been distributed to hundreds of midwives etc for breastfeeding classes along with a few of our 'special' ones which are made in very soft natural yarns and have the backs pulled in to make a concave bit so they don't rub on the stitch line - these are used by ladies after mastectomies - not everyone likes the prosthetics that are issued by the NHS. We have a lovely old lady here who pulled hers out in the post office to let the ladies see what Kate had made for her - the whole place was in an uproar but she just chuckled and tucked it back in :rotfl:

Must get off to bed now - been catching up with all the posts I missed out on and got carried away - you lot are a bad influence :D
    ;)

Maytaurus - I can tell you this - it will be all on it`s lonesome there !! Whoever thought it would be a good pattern for a smoothie hat must have had a sadistic streak - I had needles sticking out at all angles and wool in a twist everywhere doing that one . Usually they are so quick to do - but that one seemed to take ages. Put me off doing them for a while I can tell you.:p Think I`ll stick to the easier ones in future.

Off now to have a look at the link Pam put on, as DH is off at cardiac class so I`ll get peace to peruse all the `goodies` without him wittering on about `those knitting things again`
