dfs sofa, is salesman trying it on?

We bought a sofa in DFS in aug, 3 and 2 seater in natural leather (cost £2k). Guy was really helpful and explained that it would stain if drinks or anything else got on it, which so far touch wood it hasn't but the 2seater has gone really saggy in the seat part whereas the 3 seater is fab. We are having a lot of trouble trying to get the fault looked at which is very frustrating. Just a word of warning DFS are quick enough to take your money but their aftersales are rubbish.
Going back to the issue in hand, choose the sofa you are happiest with and like more because a few months down the line you will regret it. If you go for the one that requires more plumping so be it, its only 5mins a day if that . good luck with what you pick x0 -
we bought a leather corner sofa from dfs 4yrs ago, it was one of the more expensiv ones, but the leather looks like the day i got it. i hav been using the leather cleaner that came with it, and am just starting to run out of it now.
the only downside i would say is that as we always use the corner part to sit on rather than the other seats the backrest part is starting to sag and needs re-filling.Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!0 -
We got our sofas from SCS, we found everyone we dealt with from the salesman to the delivery men to be proffesional and polite, it was delivered on the day they said it would be, they took them upstairs without complaint (we live in a town house) and they were competitive price wise, 2 years on and a busy household with 6 children later and they still look fab. This is in total contrast to the service we recieved from sofa workshop a few years ago, they sent the wrong sofas were late delivering (by weeks!), sent the wrong covers, didn't collect the wrong items when they said they would etc it went on and on and on and on, nightmare, especially as I came home from hospital having given birth to twins and had nowhere to sit!0

Not a place you might think about but what about Tesco Direct. You get cashback through Quidco and Clubcard points and no long wait like some of the furniture stores.
We bought two sofa's in their sale last year for the playroom and they're really lovely and a fraction of what I would have paid on the High Street.
I liked them so much I ordered (different ones) again this week for the lounge and they're coming next week.0 -
You could try Argos instead of DFS, a friend of mine has recently bought her first house and ordered a pair of leather sofas from Argos online. They arrived within 3 weeks. I stayed with her at the weekend and was so comfortable on I could have slept on them! They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Youve got young children.
Buy a cheap sofa from somewhere like Ikea, Argos etc
Could probably get 2 for ~£400, & 2 sofas is more flexible than a corner unit.
DFS, SCS etc sell poorly built, 'fashiony' stuff
Think, will you still want that whole sofa in 10 years time, or even 5+ years time?0 -

I agree! I'm wanting rid of my expensive dfs corner unit which i have had 4 years and this time i'm gonna go for the cheaper alternatives. I reckon it will last just as long!:starmod: May all your wishes come true! :starmod:0 -
The salesmen is right, the second one has fibre filled seats and they'll be a nightmare to keep looking half decent in a family home.£80 in boots vouchers from pigsback.com - Balance: 820pp£15 in paypal from Lightspeed + £30 Halfords Vouchers£36.20 earned from onepoll so far£40 Tesco Vouchers - Valued Opinions:beer:0
