The StratosphereI've changed our hotel room slightly. Its still the stratosphere and I'm looking forward to it, however I've changed the room from a king premier view to romance suite complete with hot tub!. Managed to get a 700 sq foot romance suite for less then the price of a normal 350 sq foot room on the centre of the strip. £650 for 8 nights in November with expedia's 50% off deal at the stratosphere..0

I don't know about that - you could get a Luv Tub room at IP for less than that...or a standard room at Bally's (450 square feet) for less as well...both much better locations, certainly Bally's better standard of accomodation generally (haven't stayed at IP so can't say there)...but you're obviously happy at the Strat...though I thought the goal was to keep the hotel cost as low as possible. I suppose if you're planning on getting married a suite would be a nice thing.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Happy new year everyone. We (my wife and i and our 2 friends) visit Vegas end April beginning May.
5 nights and then a AA flight to Florida for 12 nights. Been to Florida a few times but thought we would try Vegas first. Looking forward to it.
My wife was very keen to see the lion king. I just booked the tickets via ticketmaster as they currently have a pre-sale going on.
A pass code is required. Without giving too much away it is the name of a country with six letters beginning with a and ending in a............0 -

That was the goal but then thought it'd be nice to have a little luxury. Bally's don't have any rates on the website at the moment so can't really compare but I think thats a good price, on the website direct its coming up as $1600 so a saving of about £4000 -
The Fremont street experienceFor November, Id leave it until say September before booking - thats when the real deals started last year. Even now, theres Palazzo deals for Jan for $119 weekday/$169 weekend, which include $25 slot credit, $30 food credit, Phantom discount, Spa discount......thats about £640, but if you eat there and cash out the slot credit on roulette, it comes down to about £500.....for a suite.....in a five star hotel......with slippers and a robe......and your not stuck at the end of the strip in an area you avoid eye contact with people walking past you in the street. The Bellagio Fountainsferf - my ch3000 res last week was with Thrifty, and they stated on my booking confirmation form "NO ONE WAY FEE" and it also says "PAID IN FULL".
Sounded OK......had to email them today though, as Thrifty charged my credit card for what looks like the full rental amount, as well as ch3000 charging me a month or so ago.
Will let you know how it works out.
we rented in LA and dropped in Vegas with Dollar via Carhire 3000 and had no extra fees.
you do wonder sometimes though if Carhire 3000 and the hire companys read from the same script.
when we picked up our car in Denver from Advantage ( again via Carhire 3000 ) i didn't bother reading to much of the loads of bits of paper they lumber you with. Six states ( Nebraska , South Dakota , Montana , Wyoming , Idaho and Utah ) and about 2K miles later i find a leafet in the car hire stuff saying"unless you have specific permission in writing from the office you hired the car from , you may not take your rental outside the state you rented it in. all insurances become null and void if you do"i rang carhire 3000 who told me " all our rentals can be taken anywhere as long as it's not Mexico". it would have been intresting to see what would have happened had i had i bump in Utah say.but you also have to ask why do Advantage put that clause in ? , what possible risk is there in someone leaving one US state for a neighbouring US state. none i can think of . it seems to to be sneaky way of getting more money out of people .it is small print and things like this as to why i don't trust car hire companys !!and why i will always go through a agent like carhire 3000 rather than hire direct. at least you get a staright answer out of Carhire 3000 and staright price too.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
The Bellagio FountainsPS Has anyone tried walking from Strat to somewhere mid-strip, say Bellagio? Two hours?
depends on the heat i guess . i would say an hour if it is not above 25c. if it is 40+c then i think it would suicidal to attempt to walk itBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
