nice one Tango... what month you going?

to be honest, I think £368 for a direct flight in the current climate is a pretty decent price :)

    Shamelessly stolen from another site:
    http://www.tripkick.com/

Basically, enter whichever Vegas hotel you want and it tells you the decent rooms --- useful perhaps for $20 trickin' (gives you an idea of what to aim for... ie. Paris = 'P' room etc etc)
I'm going May 5th for 10 days....all I have to do now is book my accomodation for the night before we fly ,get my train tickets from home to LGW and get my hotels in Vegas

Doing the murder mystery today at 1, will report on that later. Doing the Wal-Mart run now, then dinner at PF Changs later.

this sounds so much like an average day in Vegas for us! Hope the mystery adventure is great.

Also thanks for the comment on Caesars classic rooms - I was sure I'd read something similar before - that people read 'Caesars' and assume all the rooms were posh...good to have first hand info in that respect.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I second the Classic room........was a bit like a Holiday Inn room....dated and shabby.

Just looking at the map on the first page and trying to get an idea of distances. Could anyone tell me how long it would take to walk from say Bellagio to Mandalay Bay?

Don't make the Classic 1st time visitors mistake and try walking that far because you can see the casino. remember these places are huge and they play a sort of visual illusion on you when you are walking , in that they seem much closer than they are . comfy shoes are must for most vegas trips .

shame because The Augustus tower wash simply lush . so glad the $20 trick worked and got out of the Classic room we had booked.

I have a spreadsheet with the strip distances on it somewhere. I'll dig it out and see if I can post it here.
  • Hi
Just thought i'd join MSE and thank everyone for the Las Vegas advice
I've been lurking this thread for months.

My brother and I are going 3rd week of Feb to celebrate my 40th Birthday and have just booked our flights today.
Virgin £340 each - Great price thanks to the advice on here
(Was £480 when i wanted to book it last year, advice on here was to wait)
No Hotel yet, awaiting the feb deals
depending on promos available its a toss up between Flamingo, Harragh's or Ballys. As we're both now single my brother wants to stay @ Hooters..... I'm trying to talk him out of it LOL but good price currently.

Oh and the ESTA advice was superb, neither of us realised. All ESTA'd up now:)

    Thanks again
Shame about the exchange rate though :(
