The cab trip back to the airport took about 15 mins via the Tropicana junction which considering the roadworks and it was lunchtime we thought was pretty good. Better than our pre-booked shuttle bus which was running over 45 mins late picking us up and which we gave up on and took the cab option. Didn't bother phoning to find out why as the hotel reckoned a half hour late wasn't an issue and the traffic was bad!
Right - but sometimes the tunnel is the better option due to traffic - the taxi driver will know the current conditions...that's why I suggest asking to be taken the cheapest way or the fastest way - then the driver can act accordingly. You can just say 'no tunnel' but then the taxi driver may take the surface roads when they're absolutely jammed with traffic and the tunnel would have been the better option.
As for booking a return shuttle to the airport - I've read so may horror stories of them never turning up that I would never book a return shuttle.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Yeah, we'd booked with the hotel. Plenty of Showtime shuttle buses but our CLS one just didnt turn up.0

With the increase in taxi fares (due to poor ex. rate), it's one of the reasons we've hired a car for our trip. Return taxi fare will probably be getting on for £30 so for just £85 extra we will have the freedom of a car (albeit the most basic one) for a whole week. It will give us the chance to visit a few off-strip hotels and try out some different buffets. Also got a copy of the ACG book so will be able to make use of a few free buffet vouchers.
Oh, many thanks ferf for the info regarding the Dollar Express membership. Received my card a couple of days ago so hopefully no nasty queues when collecting the car !0 -
The Bellagio FountainsHi. Going to Las vegas mid June at the end of a honeymmon and want to take the wife to a fine dinning experience at the MGM Grand and or Bellagio but have no idea how much it would be. For 2 or 3 courses and a bottle of strd wine, typicaly how much would it be?.
Thanks0 -

Glad it arrived OK - not sure if it would be worth contacting them to see if they can add your Express number to the booking? I think pebbles said before she books through a 3rd party and just goes down to the Express booth and they sort her out there - but maybe worth checking if you can add it to the booking in advance? If they have your number associated with the booking they will already have printed out your contract when you arrive...not a massive time savings, but maybe something.
We also always rent a car - just so much more convenient and so much more freedom...but driving in the US isn't an issue for me, when I know some don't like the idea!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
