Right, anyone seriously interested in a media player for flights should check out this link pretty quickly:

    http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3511634/Archos-705-Wi-Fi-80GB-Portable-Media-Player/Product.html

They won't last long at that price, I'm pretty sure of that. I've just ordered this morning, the price was too good to refuse.

several places are doing the 160gb 705 for £199

Does anyone know if any deals for the platinum happen close to check in date ? Going to Las Vegas on April 6th, currently on expedia they are doing 15% discount, will they do more closer to the date ?

Have to book through expedia for a very complex reason I won't go into.

Has anyone stayed at the Desert Rose ? Any thoughts, would rather go a bit more upscale and go to the Plainum but holiding out for bigger discount - will it come ?

Platinum are doing a 15% off deal on their website directly that covers April...stoneman posted a link for buy 3 nights get one free but it's only good through March...whether a new one will come out for April and whether Expedia will match it I'm not sure...I'm not sure that many of us are that up on how Expedia trends with the hotels since most of us prefer to book direct but it may be that someone can give some guidance.

Someone asked about Desert Rose last year and I don't think anyone had stayed there at the time...but maybe someone has now. It gets really good reviews (as does Platinum) and I suppose if you're happy not to be staying at a hotel/casino and OK with being off strip, perhaps it's an option especially if you prefer to have more facilities in the room than most rooms on the strip (for us it wouldn't be Vegas if we couldn't play some slots on our way to bed!)...though be sure to read back through stoneman's comments about staying at Platinum.

You know that both of these are off the strip?

Not in stock though ! Anyone can sell things cheap when they are out of stock. I'd be amazed if they are still £199 when they are back in stock. If they are, then it's a fantastic price, but I somehow doubt they will.

You can normally order things that are not in stock and get the advertised price...so I wouldn't say that because it's out of stock means it's not available at that price, just that it may be a bit of a wait.

I booked the Signature direct with MGM at $129. Then when that TravelZoo offer for LSI first came out I rebooked with them at $109 for my dates.

I checked the rates again less than 2 weeks later and they had come down to $89, even though TravelZoo was still showing the higher price so I called and had the rate adjusted.

It must have been a blip as it's now showing a higher rate for our dates.

Also the beauty of booking with LSI rather than the MGM is that they are still only charging a $15 resort fee instead of $20. :)

Yea I grabbed that offer when Luci (Thanks!!) posted it a few weeks ago, I admit I booked the one bedroomed suite (I deserve a bit of luxury!!) and got it for just under £100.00 a night including the resort fee.

Just over 2 weeks to go....
