Morning guys,

I was wondering if i could get some advice about booking a Las Vegas get away.

A few of us (4) are thinking of going away for my brothers 21st birthday (30/04/2009).

We were thinking of going away for 7 days - maybe leave on the 29th? I don't think it's massively that we arrive on his birthday but it would be nice.

We'd like to stay in one of the nicer hotels - MGM etc.

I was wondering if anyone can suggest on how to find the cheapest deal?

Is it best booking the flight and hotel seperately or will a package deal work out better?

Can anyone suggest any tips - we were hoping to spend no more than £500-600 for the flight and accomodation.

Meals on plane would be nice but we're happy to cater for ourselves once we are there.

Many thanks in advance!

I hope as Stoneman suggested that you have read through the first post as everything you need to know is on there.

Less than £300 for flight is great....book it!

Just one ? are all members 21 or over, if not they wont get served alchohol anywhere and cant gamble. They are very strict and will aske for ID everywhere so make sure you carry photo ID on you.

Anyone that fancies seeing The blue man group, i have just come across this...........

You can get the BMG 40% off regular prices venetian.com. Use Code "ZOOFEB" I been wanting to see them but didn't want to spend the full price. Yes the coupon says Feb, but I believe it will work for all of March also. I know it is currently working right now.

Blue Zone Poncho was $132.00 now $79.20
Blue Zone was $132.00 now $79.20
Red Zone Poncho was $91.85 now $55.00
Red Zone was $91.85 now $55.00

I found this on Open Vegas website. It also works in April too.
Thanks for the link, has anyone seen The Blue Man group?

Not in Vegas, but in London...we loved it, but it's got a high love it/hate it factor it seems...I tend to think that if you know what the show is and it sounds interesting (maybe watch a few short clips), you'll enjoy it...I think most that don't like it didn't know what it was going in.

We've seen them and did not enjoy the show. However, they are very popular and a lot of people really do like them, it maybe just not our taste. So, I would suggest you go and see them and judge for yourself. Some of the effects are pretty impressive, I would say that.

re BMG...see, there you go - one love and one hate. :)

It's funny because if you look at the reviews at Trip Advisor the majority are 5 or 1 star (but don't read too much of any of the reviews as a LOT give away a good bit about the acts in the show) giving it a solid rating of 3 stars...it's got to be the most love/hate show in Vegas.

MGM Grand -Last Minute Deals!-

Promotion Details:
Name: Last Minute Deals!
Description: Deluxe Rooms from $57/ night - $35 Activity Credit towards dining or entertainment - 2 VIP Passes to Studio 54 or Tabu - 2 for 1 Spa pass - $10 Free Slot Play - $30 upgrade per night to Celebrity Spa Suite
Promo Code: MKT231
Valid: March 6, 2009 - September 1, 2009

Has anyone done this sort of upgrade before, would it be worth doing? Sorry for all the questions, thanks for any feedback in advance.

Maybe i'm being a bit thick, but how do you get that upgrade? When I click on the offer the Celebrity Suites are at least $100 per night more than the deluxe rooms for the nights I selected (which are in the offer) and there's no option to upgrade anywhere in the booking options. Am I right in thinking you need to upgrade on checkin or by phone?

Also, we've currently got rooms at the Bellagio (standard Deluxe rooms). Are these celebrity suites better or worse? Celebrity Suites would work out slightly more so just trying to work out if its a better offer.

Again I've not seen them in Vegas but I did see them in New York not long after they first started and loved it.

I guess thats 2-1 for the likes.

Regarding calling for better tickets...have tried everything to get through to Caesars box office to see about choosing seats more to our liking for Elton John...every number I've found or been given ends up throwing me back to Ticketmaster's automated system that just gives me the exact same options as online.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I've tried the main Caesars number...and the box office number 877-235-4634

I know that when those sort of upgrades have been offered before they're available at check-in but subject to availability...so if there's availability and you want to upgrade you can for the extra fee...but you aren't guaranteed the upgrade option...at least that's the way it has been before on some of the promos they have had...you could always call and double check since you'd only be interested if the upgrade was guaranteed.
