Wow...so if I'm reading correctly, Strat to Bellagio or so is 2.5 miles? I don't think I realised it was that far from mid-strip.

Also didn't realise that Ballys to Wynn is a mile...have done that many times, didn't seem that long, but I suppose we never walked it without stopping several times (too many casinos with slots along the route to make it in one go :))
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Yes it's quite surprising isn't it? I got the info quite a long time ago, but I checked it for accuracy against google maps before I posted it here.

Well calling in at a casino or two on the way kind of takes your mind off the distance. It's a good thing really isn't it?

Thanks if you make it alive. If not, its only about 300 yards ;)

Distances can be deceptive......for example the Bellagio pond is longer than The Titanic.

haha! We walked from Sahara to the Strat for dinner after dark once (having taken the monorail to Sahara)...so just across the street and up a bit...I'm not one to feel uncomfortable most places but I did on that walk a bit...we also once finished a meal about 2am at Peppermill and decided to walk to Sahara to catch the monorail back to Bally's...we totally fell prey to the 'it's right there - it's not far' thing...now I see it's 1/2 a mile or so...not that far relatively speaking, but at that hour, it was definately a bit dodgy and uncomfortable.

I think the mid strip distances don't seem so bad as there is so much along the way...north strip there's not nearly so much.

Absolutely! Once we had a great run on the north-bound casino hopping tour...the south bound version took back all we'd won, but still made it back 'home' even...so. :)

Thanks for that....I knew they were due a refurbishment but didn't realise the service would be compromised
Should they not be offering really cheap rates if that is the case??

They are stuck between a rock and a hard place the Vegas hotel has had to supplement the Atlantci city one if I remeber correctly the AC Trop lost its casino licence and part of getting it back involved having to run the hotel with no casino for a period of time which crippled the,. Tropicana are offering stunning rates i got offered $18 per night in December but I think that their offers tend to come at the last minute.
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time
