Hi I wonder if you can tell me if this sounds right to you? I just agreed over the phone to a new/renewal contract with Orange. Previously £30 a month for 18 months with 5 cheque backs of £47.50 Via Carphone warehouse. They offered (Carphone warehouse) the same contract EXCEPT they would give me £270 back within a month of the start of the contract. MY new contract starts in January when my old one finishes I havent yet claimed back my final £47.50 as I havent had the bill to send back. The contract was agreed over the phone NO SIGNING ANYTHING. Is this normal? I have been with Orange on and off for years but I have run PYG for my mother continuasly for at least 8 years (?) in my name. Also I think this would be my 6th carphone warehouse contract. I wonder if this contract is to good to be true?? JB PS the contract gives me 400 anytime minutes and 100 texts

Did they say they would send you a cheque for £270 or do you get it as a credit on your account?

Cheque not credit but... I would not be devastated if i got a credit for £270.......on the assumption that that means they took nothing out of my account for 9 months (270/30 = 9 months)

if the deal's through CPW it's likely to be a cheque.

If it's through Orange direct (ie. retentions) then it'll be an account credit.

sounds normal, just make sure you have the offer confirmed. Extensions of contracts can be made orally and the updated T&Cs are usually communicated to you with the device/sim-card. (sometimes in the user manual, and acceptance is deemed as soon as you use the device/sim)
