Coincidentally, I've just been watching the Gadget Show Xmas special and they reviewed 3 LCD TVs. The Samsung, although good, faired the worse of the 3.

It depends how much of a perfectionist you are.

To be honest, I think the Gadget Shows reviews are shockingly bad these days, I just watch it for the entertainment value.

That LCD test you mention was a perfect example. Utter rubbish, I would not base any decision on that review at all.

Are you sure its a black line. My brother has this, but upon closer inspection it's the reflection of the glossy black trim around the edge of the screen. Show's more when screen is light/white.
  • I am considering buying a Samsung TV...any suggestions?
    Thanks

My dad just got a Sammy 42" plasma and it dosent handle white very well, watching charlie and chocolate factory and the scene where it was mainly white you could see little black fizzing dots,my FIL also has the same TV and it does the same, i watched it at home on my Panny plasma and no hint of this fizzing.

If you can afford it go for the Panasonic, as mentioned its one of the best, Pioneer are the best but way more expensive
  • my oh and his family only buy samsung, we have a 42inch in the bedroom that oh uses only for his xbox360, the idea was so i could snuggle up with baby after the birth but apart from happy feet we havent watched anything on it:eek:
his mom and dad each have one and his two brothers and had no problems, the only problem was when his brother had one of those really big heavy ones as the certain model all broke and had the same prob with a green line that cost a bit to fix but had no probs since going flat screen.

We have installed a 50" Samsung Plasma on my sons bedroom wall and it is brilliant. I have a 50" Panasonic in the lounge and the picture quality is not as good as the Samsung.

Could you adopt me please? :)

We have a 26" Samsung and the black levels are fantastic, picture is very good too. I'd always pick a Panasonic if I could afford it, however Samsung runs a close second, especially as they are generally cheaper.
