bit of a fun one.
i been waiting to buy in nw, south lancs/north manchester area, seen a flat i like and also 2 houses, the flat and 1 house are 1 bed (the house is a bungalow) and the other is a 2 bed terraced, all about the 80k mark and have been for 6-9 months.
i'm ready to buy in a year or so, how much do you think they will sell for?

It will be worth nothing. This time in 12 months we'll all be living in bomb shelters, armed with shotguns, stock pilling foods and fending off gangs of scary 13 year old benefit theives. Houses will no longer be bought and sold, rather used as safehouses and shelters like in the film 28 Days Later.
Oh wait. I actually don't think that, I've just been spending too much time on here.
Er... £60 to £70k?0 -
i'm more at home in the arms, we dont stockpile food or take stuff too seriously.
60k suits me cos i been having no life and saving for a deposit insteadthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

On a serious note, it all depends on the properties in question.
I live in Manchester and I think some of the well done flat developments in beautiful old buildings will probably fall in value at the same pace as a good old fashioned terrace house in the 'burbs.
There are other developments in Manchester that seemed to be thrown up in 10 days with no thought, care, passion or vision for the future and I actually think these will be close to worthless at the end of this recession.0 -
Can we have links to said properties? ThanksMy suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0

All you need is a shotgun to steal the food from the people on this board and you'll be fine. And storing a shotgun takes up less space and is a lot less hassle than filling your spare room with rice and storing your own refined p*ss in Evian bottles.0 -

Is that a new build one in Central Manchester?
When you wander around the city centre at the moment you see all sorts of offers for the really crappy developments. One is offering incentives for potential BTL landlords in a particulary horrible, thrown together building in the east of the centre which includes a guaranteed return of 8% income of your purchase price for the first two years (even if it goes unrented), 12 months free membership at a gym, 10% deposit paid, £5k cashback etc. It's probably around 50% overpriced however.0
