  • Don't touch easy mobile with a bargepole. Theres a LOT better deals kicking around that don't charge you to top-up.
You also can't use this abroad until you use 'autofill', which links your sim to your bank account, allowing easy to automatically top-up your sim - very disturbing if you get spammed by a £1.50 a minute text company.

"customers ... will pay 40p each time they top up their account electronically and £1 if they do it through the call centre. Easymobile also charges a £5 'handling fee' to leave the service and 75p a month for customers who fail to spend the minimum £5 every three months."

  • They also do a recommend a friend scheme which gives you both an extra £5 each too!
2p off is still 2p off!

You can use that £5 to pay off there 'disconnection' fee when you realise that you have to pay them extra to top-up.

I think that if you use less than £5.00 over any three month period they will charge you 75p. So if you are charged this at the end of month 3, you would have to use it a lot in month 4 to up the total for months 2, 3 & 4. It would therefore be £9.00 a year.

I hope that the easyMobile lurker will clarify this & the nastly little charge which will stop his network increasing IMO

This is listed in the FAQ, but is not mentioned in the Terms and Conditions which you agree to when making the purchase.

As far as I know, the FAQ does not form a part of the contract, so I am not sure that they can legally enforce this charge.

  • I think I might just give this a miss now, seems like way to much hassle for a freebie

I tend to agree, the p[font=Geneva,Arial,sans-serif]romise of 'no hidden charges' is not entirely accurate. The small print means customers pay 40p each time they top up their account electronically and £1 if they do it through the call centre.

Easymobile also charges a £5 'handling fee' to leave the service and 75p a month for customers who fail to spend the minimum £5 every three months.

To make it worse my cashback via Quidco says £0.00!

Anyone actually got a Quidco item being tracked for the £10?!

    Seth.
  • to seth: i was being tracked for £0.00 too since 3rd Dec...but I've recently been validated for £10.00 (i think it was on 16th Jan), give quidCo a while more and you should get your money i think.

to notagain: i think it says somewhere in the T&Cs that you can't use these "bonus" credits (be it referrals, or the extra £10 credit they give new customers) to pay for the £5 admin fee in order to refund remaining credit on the sim.

Does anyone know, what are call charges for using Simplyfone number(07744974404) and 0871/0844 numbers from Easymobile?.

0845/0870 are charged at 15p/min as per charges mentioned in their site.
