  • Glad you are doing well on the challenge FedUp.... re the stuff on ebay, I have sold quite a lot of stuff that has been used once or twice, and for reasonable money too. I usually just list it as 'buy this before you try it for real' or something similar, and it seems to go fairly well.

I am now happy with not buying magazines and chocolate. I pick up free magazines, and read any that get left around, but I haven't bought any.

I have bought crisps this week, but I have had my sister and family stay, and they're good to put in picnic lunches. Only one pack was bought to go with an evening bottle of wine. I suppose that's my first blip then. Again, I don't really have any inclination to buy them, or peanuts.

As Wheredoesitallgo said, this cold turkey stuff seems to do the trick! :)

I decided to put a Philosophy Cleanser, found out some almost brand new OPI nail varnishes unused for almost 2 years and the nail inc set bought on my blip in ebay - all photographed and ready to list tomorrow. Already have some Ojon I bought and used once on ebay and hoping this sells at any price even tho' they are practically full.

This challenge has helped me think what I have, will use, enjoy using, suits my skin and hair and nails and.....what does not. I will not make the same impulse buy mistakes again stockpliling never to be used or stored away for years:D

Fedupandskint - well done you! :T:T:T

I totally agree and thought of your post when I was in Boots today - had a few essential bits to get & got one of those £5/£2 off vouchers (my friend had given me a £5 skincare one last weekend too.)

In the past I would have used the skincare one to 'stock up' on my favourite Olay moisturiser (and probably looped through the tills a couple of times too), but since the challenge began I've been using the Aldi one and am not going to need a new one for a couple of months yet (and am sure I have yet more tucked away somewhere!)

So instead I got a couple of Time Delay eyecreams, one for me, one for my friend at a cost of £1.84 each and a Lee Stafford Dry Shampoo (love that stuff & very nearly run out - anyone else know anything else that smells like it?) for £2.88 - and actually left with the new set of vouchers still in my bag - am going to pass them to my mum to see if any of her girls at work can use them *polishes slightly dented halo!*

I also tried on the most fabulous pair of purple Calvin Klein sunglasses (£79!) and so nearly treated myself after the pants week I've had but walked away at the last minute - I'm not saying I won't think fondly of them (or that it hasn't occured to me since that the 1/2 price sunglasses voucher should be out soon *ahem!*), but it would have been easy to justify & I'm quite proud that I didn't. My £2.94 Primark specials live to see another day! :rotfl:

Thanks for the well-wishes (and the forgiveness, lol!) SarahNeedle1872 - am well on the road to recovery now (and I was just getting used to the lie-ins too...:rotfl:)

Well done for resisting Liz Earle - I was thinking of you when I saw her on the QVC special! :D Also top top tip on the eBay selling - will definitely give that a go as I have loads of things that I buy, try & just end up giving to my friend's teenage daughter & niece - they might be less keen on my plan though! I did send a perfume I used maybe twice (bought when prego & hated ever since, hormones are expensive mistresses!) through the other day - had I thought on I'd have perhaps tried to list it instead!

bebebelle - your Roc face cream comment made me laugh - I've been breaking all the rules too - had a fabulously slippery Lush week of using hand-cream as body cream, have used up loads of shampoo as showergel & hand-wash (we get through BUCKETS of liquid soap here!), and always use conditioner my head doesn't like as shaving cream for my legs - apparently they're not so fussy! :rotfl:

Conditioner also makes a fab in-shower moisturiser - and if you dilute it slightly it also works as fabric softener in the washing machine, have used that before when I've been stuck!

Last but by no means least poorandindenial - good to see you back!:T

Well done everyone, particularly those who are managing to remain blip-free - are we half-way there yet?? :T:T:T

P.S. Still blip-free on the heat & smoking front! :D
  • Right have listed the Nails Inc set I bought on my blip :D

I deliberated about this long and hard. Thinking well the colours are nice and I do like them...Then I shook myself and realised I had sold on ebay the other 2 boc sets I bought and never used and all the OPI nail varnishes I used once or twice

On it went, pleased I've done this and hope it goes to someone who will use it and enjoy it rather than it lay unused by me.

This was an impulse buy in the true sense of the word and I think I finally understand what this means and I am now learning how to cope and not cave in. I am finding it tough a lot of the time and I believe this is beacause I am watching a lot of QVC during the day due to recovering from my car accident. My word they're a powerful force

I haven't ordered anything and I don't have any outstanding easypays now due to this challenge which is a nice feeling :D

Keeping on going this challenge and looking forward to then next 100 days! :j

    Hi all,
Am doing quite well with this challenge. my only blip has been the odd soda buy:o but it has still been positive as I used to be quite addicted to coke, whereas now it is only consumed maybe every 3 weeks so it is a real improvement. I haven't purchased any skincare, haircare or cosmetics. I have finished a cleanser, moisturiser, body balm, hair conditioner and sunscreen. Still have heaps of backups though. I have to say I am liking finishing things up and although I have had moments where I thought I might weaken it hasn't been too bad. Hope everyone is doing well:j

    Day 80 today - only 20 days left!!! :D  :D

Just wanted to update you about how I was doing. My declutter continues in the beauty department....

Just about to post 2 Ojon items and a L'Occitane bath creme to the winning bidders, glad they are going to a new home!

Used up a Philosophy firming facial serum and sm size Eve Lom Rescue Mask

Still plenty to go...going to have a search through my unused/sealed BE make up this afternoon as shoulder is v.achy from the car crash to see if there is anything else I can bear to part with. Mineral make up lasts sooooo long! Not that I'm complaining now, why did I sucker and buy so much of it?????

Also found out a Gatineau DefiLift Serum which I either hang onto for a few more years or pop onto ebay and see how it goes? (I got sent this by error and I kept it)

    Hello everybody,

I've finally caught up with the entire thread because of my absence.

Wow, there's loads of products I haven't even heard off!!

I've never got into the QVC thing and I couldn't even if I wanted to now, which after reading through everybody's comments is a really good thing, sounds like they get their claws into you good and proper.

Well done to everybody for abstaining, all this advertising must be torture!!

    Toodles.

I know I've posted a lot recently but I have had a make-up LBM at last

I sorted out my make up collection to see if there was anything I could sell which was sealed on ebay. When I joined this challenge I never opened up my make up bags. I haven't bought anything during the challenge either.

I only faced up to the skincare and QVC bit due to the fact it was difficult not too as I was surrounded by the stuff and packaging

Today I laid out all my make up, looked at all the open BM stuff alongside SB and LG.Realised how long it takes to use BM up (I've only ever used up a concealer and foundation and one eye base) and that it dosen't go off. I don't think I'll need to buy anymore aside from mascara for a long while yet.

I am shocked at how much I have

LBM No2 - no more, no more, no more, only replace when I have run out and say to myself 'do I need it, do I want it, will I use it?'

:D happy at last! :D Stop being fedup and skint now, the light has been shown, the final part of my jigsaw is in place to stop spending what I don't have on things I don't need. Onwards and upwards on the long long haul ahead!

Did manage to sort out some bits and pieces for ebay, altho' I seem to find this harder to part with than skincare!

    Hey Fedup,

well done on your LBM 2.

  • Evening everyone :hello:

Not posted here for a while, but still doing well. Not bought anything new, but used up a foot cream and getting near the end of a shampoo. Starting to fret about running out of my last full-size Liz Earle cleanse and polish! They don't have a window so you can't tell how much is left - and normally I would have a back-up ready. I do still have a trial size tho', and a full Lulu one to use (that one never got started cos I couldn't figure out how to open it! :rotfl: )

Just bagged up my last Avon order as a rep :j ! Can't wait to pay it off - probably the end of next week - and then call them to close the account. I didn't even order myself a new eyeliner after I lost my brown one in the back of a taxi the other week. That's always happening to me - I must lose one every 6 weeks or so. Anyway, I'm just using another colour till the end of the challenge, then I think I will treat myself to one from Boots and use points for it.

Everyone seems to be doing really well! :T
