  • I needed the 80 different shades of red nail varnish that I have in a drawer. They are all different shades - honest (apart from the ones that I already had when I got them home beause I forgot that I had already needed them - lets not mention the 50+ eyeshadows and 40+ lipsticks/glosses)

I also have a lot of L'Occitaine (and Decleor and Shiseido and Jo Malone and Penhalagons and.... oh the list goes on) but mine was definitely a go into a nice shop where you talk to the nice lady and get nice packaging and lovely feeling bags sort of a habit.

  • I was like that in Molton Brown at Christmas..... the lovely lady gave me a couple of glasses of mulled wine and the next thing I know, I'm spending £45 on a candle! :o Scary stuff!

*puts hand up* I am a qvc addict (Ok not quite an addict but certainly have bought my fair share of stuff from there)
TSV - limited stock - rushes to order :rotfl:
Alison Young and Dawn Bibby gang up on me and force me to buy:rotfl:
weaknesses from qvc are: molton brown, l'occitane, liz earle, elemis, craft stuff, yankee candles, kipling . Yep i have to have these things even if cupboards are straining under the weight of my stash:rotfl:
have been good and resisted all temptation since starting the challenge though (ok i know it has only been 2 weeks:rotfl: )

  • Luckily for me, we barely get any TV signal so I am saved from QVC and such like.

Is it only 14days? I've been very good. have not bought any choccy for me. Still have Christmas choccy and also at work we still have lots of sweets and chocolates being given to us. So I have satisfied my suger cravings for free.

Talking of chocolate, better get ready and hit the gym.

Does chocolate orange count as one of my 5 a day? ;)

I'm going to give up takeaways for 100 days (oo that rhymes). It was my new year's resolution anyway, so I've not had one this year yet, but I'm weakening fast... I hope seeing it in my sig will keep me going

I have sort of stumbled, due to not being able to get to food or cooking appliances, oh and having electrics switched off for most of the day, I ended up going chippy so I could have some lunch. £1.99 on mini fish and chips plus curry sauce. Fingers crossed this is my only glitch during the 100days and whilst work is happening on house. I have a kettle electric and cuppa soups in here today plush somewhere there is a heel of bread. Oh and enough milk that I can have cereal if I get hungry.

I'm using so much cream up that I'm sliding out of bed at nights:rotfl:

Lol! Rings a bell or two - I'm slathering it on and haven't even seen the bottom of a pot yet!

I'm doing great at the mo, :A had a couple of minor wobbles when I very nearly bid on lovely Ruby & Millie sets on eBay but slammed the laptop shut when I twigged I was close!

Have a more tricky situation approaching on Friday night, my sis and I are booked in for a makeup lesson with Benefit at Meadowhall (since long before Christmas), and my lovely Mum has given us a bit of cash to splash as she's been out of action with a broken ankle for a month & is feeling a bit rotten for not being able to treat us at Christmas (you can't tell them, can you??)

It's actually a double dilemma because I got some seriously good points vouchers from Boots for use on Ruby & Millie & Lee Stafford too (they must be worried about me, lol!) - the only way round I can think of is having the makeup lesson from Benefit and not buying (not a prob., I have most of their stuff anyway!), and using the money/vouchers to stash gifts for next Christmas as I'm one of those terrible people who starts buying pressies in the January sales! I normally make up a couple of hampers from Lee Stafford/Botanics stuff for generic birthday pressies too - doesn't cost much & always very well received!

So I'm still currently guilt-free, but feeling a bit apprehensive about Fri. I'm not going to cancel though as I've had a knackering time lately and could do with a bit of time without the kids & don't see enough of my sis as it is. Added to that - if you can believe this - I've NEVER had a makeover/make-up lesson before! Perhaps if I had I wouldn't have so much stuff that never suited me in the first place! :rotfl:

And for all those missing their celeb gossip, one of my favourite sites is:

    http://idontlikeyouinthatway.com

Very cruel but extremely funny too!

Sorry, bit of an epic post - so glad to read everyone else's stories though - we can do it ladies (are we all ladies??) There's strength in numbers - bet Boots, QVC, etc., have seen a sudden dive in their profits though! :rotfl:
  • I had my first real test yesterday as I had to go into town shopping for the first time since I started the challenge. I am so proud of myself cos I had to go into Boots and the Body Shop as about to run out of both toothpaste and deodorant, and I didn't buy anything else - I didn't even look at anything else!! :D

My next test is eyebrow pencil! I only have about an inch left and it needs sharpening! I am desperate for a new one, but I am being dead strict with myself and will not let myself buy one while I'm doing the challenge. By then I may have decided that I don't even need eyebrow pencil after all!

I am seriously loving this challenge. As well as saving money, it is also making me appreciate the stuff that I've already got.:)

 I boobed again. I bought a branch with mirrors and candle holders to put in my bedroom. Totally an impulse buy.

Now I am trying to build the will power to take it back cos I know I would rather have the money.... besides it is a little too big for where I had wanted it to go.

    Will I ever learn?

Oh well that's another £1 for my sealed pot plus the £15 I spent on my purchase will go in the sealed pot too. That'll teach me....I hope

I DID IT! I took it back and got my money back. Well done me....I knew I had it in me somewhere! WELL DONE TO ME!

Money safely installed in my sealed pot. :A :j

So does the fact that I took my impules buy back mean I get to minus it from my failures???????????
I don't get to come on here too often.
    Too buzy money saving!
    :D
