Useless comments? You're the one making all those.
Stop calling people toshers. What a ridiculous thing to call someone.0 -
You need to stop embarrasing yourself as some of your comments regarding the OP and myself are useless and based on assumptions without facts.
Pinky - I will rest my case now as I have no need to reply to you again.0 -

Arsenal, if your comprehension of English is so limited that you have difficulty understanding hulmeristic statements like:Sexual vulgarity is a more serious breach of guidelines, Arsenal. Report yourself.[...]You need to read properly again[...]0

Pinky - you are so full of yourself.

Like I said, If my sexual wording really offended you should then reported me yourself. Yet another useless and unwarranted attack on me.
What is your take on the thread? You contributed with one comment about just 'heating one room and problem solved' - cramped 9 people in a room? How simple minded are you to think you have solved the problem with that. I'm not very clued up on effiiciency like others, but how silly of you to think you have solved the problem with your suggestion?
You then pick me up on the sexual aspect of my comment. You neither agree or disagree with my comments on others who have attacked or made useless comments on, originally the OP and then me.
Any right minded person on here will find the attacks on the OP are disgraceful. You should not cast further comments if you cannot contribute any thoughtful advice to the OP and failed to see the disgraceful nature of comments by some.0 -
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but you are talking utter nonsense.0

Hi Andy!
I think there are a number of problems here - prepayment for a start is usually more expensive than a standard bill. You also say you live in an end of terrace with a loft conversion - this would suggest to me that you are losing a lot of heat through the walls and the roof. Your neighbour is presumably mid terrace and being heated by both sides. Do you know if the required amount of insulation was put in when the loft was converted?
You mention draughts - do you have double glazing? Again you will lose an amazing amount of heat with old windows - there is some cling film-like stuff on the market which you can use as 'secondary glazing'. This reduced my gas use in one flat to a third (gas fire, three bars down to one overnight).
You also mention setting your thermostat to 15C and being very cold; whilst I would not say that was warm, it's not that cold. Are you all wrapping up properly? I wear a bodywarmer round the house and we sit with blankets on our knees and we are fine at 15C. Feeling the cold more may also be related to your poor health if you aren't able to do a lot of physical activity?
There is no need to heat bedrooms for anyone except perhaps the baby, just keep the doors closed in the day so you don't suck heat from the living areas. If you have a thick duvet, an electric blanket on each bed and warm pyjamas it can be cold in the room no problem. Electric blankets only cost a tiny amount to run.
With the water situation, baths use a lot more water than a shower does. Over the course of a year and with so many people to keep clean this will really add up. Another ways to save energy is to not leave TVs/ games consoles/ computers/ microwaves etc. on standby when not used. If you are able to use a slow cooker and grill rather than the oven, or at least cook several things when you switch the oven on. Swap to energy saving lightbulbs, one by one as they blow.
Never use a tumble drier or at least use an airer for some stuff because, again, these eat electricity. You are doing well to watch the meter so you know where the extra power is going. The average household spends over £1000 a year on energy - you would average a lot more as you are a big family. We all think your house is not very efficient and basically you are paying to heat the whole street!!
