Now that you can log into the router, go to the Home > DCHP screen and post what is displayed?

bit worried about the last host name all the others make sense to me but not that one? is this someone pinching my wireless signal!? I haven't set up a password ect in case it made it even worse.
DS1 has now informed me that if there is just me using the laptop upstairs in my room he can get on the net using the pc downstairs that has the weakest signal. However if DS2 is using his pc in his bedroom I can't use laptop in my bedroom!!
Really hope this isn't giving you a headache. Happy New Year!!

So is the DHCP Server Enabled or Disabled? Which circle has a blob in it? I'm guessing that you have Static DHCP Enabled.

The dynamic DHCP clients list shows that five different devices

    00-16-E3-F9-7E-1B
    00-19-C5-C0-4F-44
    00-16-44-6B-B5-6F
    00-A0-D1-CA-55-93
    00-19-5B-6F-E7-B2

have been connected to your router and each has been assigned a different IP address, so the routers the DHCP server appears to be working correctly.

Check the following on each of your PC's:

Control Panel, Network Connections, Highlight your Wireless device, Change settings of this device, Highlight TCP/IP then Properties. Have you got Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically boxes checked?

If you have do not wireless encryption set up, you should definitely go to Home > Wireless and change the SSID to a unique name of your choice e.g. NotFreeInternetNow and enable WPA-PSK, with a long random passphrase e.g. from here. Save this to a notepad file, so that you can copy & paste it in when required. If you do not recognise all of the five MAC addresses that are shown to have connected above, someone has likely connected to your unencrypted wireless network!

ttl is time to live used to determine if a packet should be discarded or not more here
igmp is Internet Group Management Protocol see here

Neither should have anything to do with the problem
Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.
