  • Well done Raphael that is a massive achievement and you should be really proud of yourself. As for me I made it to 15 NSD's despite the fact that we went out as a family to Skegness. Children spent a little money on sweets and DH spent money on food and a few pence in the arcade, but I spent nothing as DH was really nice and bought me a bit of choccy as a present.
    Loving the dtd thread. x
  • NSD for me today as not going out,one more to go should manage to go over.

  • Managed an NSD yesterday, only spent £5 on 3 packs of chicken (4 free range breast fillets in each, 20p a pack :) ) some grapes and some cherries for DS, but thats food budget so doesn't count...

Won't be going anywhere except maybe to MiLs today, so will be an NSD again today :D

  • I had spend days all week except Friday - not even sure how it happened! So that's 7 out of my target of 14, with 14 days left in the month - should manage it but it's going to be tighter than it should have been!

P.S. Well done Raphael on being debt-free! And I'm also thinking about doing the Plymouth half marathon this year...

  • Jolly well done on becoming debt free Raphael! :j

I promised myself faithfully that I would do my utmost to score as many NSDS and spend as little money as possible in January in the hopes that I would learn some new spending habits and return to the "black" after frittering a frightening amount of money away on socialising in December.

In order to achieve my goal I decided that I would design a meal plan, shop once a week, take a packed lunch every day and buy a weekly travel ticket. Furthermore I promised myself that I would not go shopping in the sales, nor go out socialising more than twice a week.

So far, so good. I have managed a total 8 NSDs and my bank balance is looking very much healthier than it generally does at the middle of the month. I am wobbling a little about what bargains I may have missed out on in the sales but doing this has taken a modicum of organisation and planning but very little actual work, and the smug sense of satisfaction at being back on an even keel financially is immensely worth it. :D
  • Man I've been rubbish at this so far - got 1 out of 4 done. Am going to aim to get another no spend day today! I'm doing so well with making £30 extra each day in Jan so I need to put some work into not spending it now lol!

  • well done raphael on being DF - thats is brilliant!
Forgot to pop in on thursday as that was a NSD and so is yesterday and today as I am not going anywhere so I am now 13/18>

trying to limit myself to food shopping once a week and doing any other spending that day too so all the damage is done at once!! takes a bit of getting organised and into the habit but its working - i think!!!!!!!!!!!
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

    Well done raphael!

Yesterday was a nsd for me, the boy bought the stuff we needed for dinner :D

and today should be too, I've got a grip on my internet spending and not leaving the house so as long as the card stays firmly in my purse I'll be ok :)
