Well done Raphael that is a massive achievement and you should be really proud of yourself. As for me I made it to 15 NSD's despite the fact that we went out as a family to Skegness. Children spent a little money on sweets and DH spent money on food and a few pence in the arcade, but I spent nothing as DH was really nice and bought me a bit of choccy as a present.Loving the dtd thread. x0

Managed an NSD yesterday, only spent £5 on 3 packs of chicken (4 free range breast fillets in each, 20p a pack
) some grapes and some cherries for DS, but thats food budget so doesn't count...
Won't be going anywhere except maybe to MiLs today, so will be an NSD again today'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
I had spend days all week except Friday - not even sure how it happened! So that's 7 out of my target of 14, with 14 days left in the month - should manage it but it's going to be tighter than it should have been!
P.S. Well done Raphael on being debt-free! And I'm also thinking about doing the Plymouth half marathon this year...Mortgage-Free Wannabe!
Mortgage at start (August 2009): £87,000
Current Mortgage: £85259
Mortgage-Free date: August 20340 -
Jolly well done on becoming debt free Raphael! :j
I promised myself faithfully that I would do my utmost to score as many NSDS and spend as little money as possible in January in the hopes that I would learn some new spending habits and return to the "black" after frittering a frightening amount of money away on socialising in December.
In order to achieve my goal I decided that I would design a meal plan, shop once a week, take a packed lunch every day and buy a weekly travel ticket. Furthermore I promised myself that I would not go shopping in the sales, nor go out socialising more than twice a week.
So far, so good. I have managed a total 8 NSDs and my bank balance is looking very much healthier than it generally does at the middle of the month. I am wobbling a little about what bargains I may have missed out on in the sales but doing this has taken a modicum of organisation and planning but very little actual work, and the smug sense of satisfaction at being back on an even keel financially is immensely worth it.0 -
