many thanks
also had pretty good reviews about sky insurance, I'm suprised Adrian Flux were no good as they have been fantastic with everyone I have recommended them to0 -
he's prolly referring to india specifically because thats the major area for call centres at the moment. It doesn't necessarily mean he has a problem with that particular country or its citizens.
Was sat next to my Indian by descent girlfriend and was interesting to see her struggle with the HSBC Indian call centre even though she could have spoken Hindi at any time.0 -
I just like to point out to the OP that I've had the privilege of working in more than one call centre in the UK.
The staff in the centres though the majority from the UK also included South African and Indian Nationals. So just because you call an UK based call centre is no guarantee that the people answering the phone will not have a foreign accent, be able to understand you or be able to pronounce UK street names.
Oh and I've recently had the amusement of watching an Indian work colleague who is actually an Indian National having an a struggle with a Indian Bank's call centre.
So I've come to the conclusion the trick in India with not doing what customers want is to pretend not to understand them and pretend to be thick, there as the trick in the UK is to divert you to a different department.;)I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -

nobody would deny that some UK call centre staff are Indian by birth. But you are more likely to encounter the problems you listed when calling an Indian call centre than a UK call centre
That's just obvious and simple, and not agreeing with it just makes you look like a daft leftie:rolleyes:0 -
If the four hit and run guys were British, and the OP was a Romanian legally living and working in the UK, pretty much the same thing could have happened, couldn't it?
Without other witnesses there would be no case.
As for the call centre, UK call centre staff are better paid than those in India, so why be surprised than insurance which does not offer UK call centres is cheaper?0
