The Indian call centre staff are generally lower skilled and lower knowledgable, which is understandable, :

Simply not true, most are highly educated, even over educated for the task, unlike some of the dumb heads at some UK Call Centres.

sorry should have been clearer - i mean lower skilled and knowledgable about practical aspects of the job they do, not in terms of their general education

i.e. things like knowing geographical regions in the UK etc

in the call centre i wortked, the Indian staff had much worse stats in terms of errors made, efficiency of their call handling etc - mainly due to the fact they were less experienced and hence lower skilled and less knowledgable

i have nothing against Indian call centres, in fact i am massively in their favour for economical reasons, but i am not so blind as to pretend that they provide the same level of service as UK call centres.

I would argue they provide a better level of service per pund of wages they cost, but overall equal level of service i'm afraid not

Which is fair enough to most people, but the OP's own words are "Car insurance rip off for being british" which implies that he maybe doesn't see it the way you have described.

agreed, but IMO it's more likely that OP is naieve and needs further discussion on the subject, rather tan being an outright racist as a certain other poster decided to accuse him.

IMO the post describing him as racist is a serious accusation, and if it were levelled at myself then i would report to the board authorities. In fact, i am surprised it hasn't been removed already:mad:

AFAIA, you havent made any racist comments. So, I would expect you to be upset if someone called you a racist. However, I suggest you read the post again and look at these comments:

"being british in my own country is not racial equality."
"risk my life as the police that i pay for are not bothered by johnny foriegner"
" I wont say why i want a uk only call centre. May upset a few non british."

It may not be an outright racial slur but the undertones are clearly obvious as to what is meant.
it's more likely that OP is naieve

Personally, I think its a mix of low education, an unwillingness to understand and a lack of respect. However, what it is, there is no excuse for it.

that's why i think an outright accusation of being a racist is innapropriate and rash
  • when i request a UK call centre only insurance quote i then get charged an extra 200.00 for that priviledge.

People working in Indian call centres get paid £2000-4000 a year depending on experience. And they're mostly fresh graduates more than happy with the jobs as wages are significantly higher than traditional local jobs. The number of new graduates entering the Indian economy each year is the same number as the whole population of Australia. People working in UK call centres get, what, £12k? Say £10k difference times 100 staff and it's harder to recruit in the UK.

The company running that UK call centre has to make at least some of the money back. Hence you pay more for that service. Simple economics.
  • wow, did that upseta few people. The race card was pulled again. Too many idiots hide behind the race card including the human rights.
I am the poster and simply havinga rant as well as seeking info for car insurance as i do feel very strongly about the situation i found myself in. I am certainly not racist but the way this country has been lost is making me go that way and yes i would admit i would support the BNP if a candidate was in my ward. Now it turns political. I need someone who can speak up for my opinions. After all, i am british and support everything british. I am totally against immigration in this country. The politicians do not listen, they are liars and most are also crooked but we still suffer and pay for it.
I boycott any company that deals with overseas call centres whether it is india or not. When i talk to them, i have a communication problem. I do not trust them as they have sold information in the past to the crooks. Mine was so hence my hate for these call centres. I dont care if someone calls me racist or bigot. So what? I am entitled to my oppinion and will give it. I stated that i was rammed of the road by romanians. No licence and no insurance. But i get to pay the bill because they are aloud to carry out their crimes and break the laws of this land that are set in stone. Yet for being british myself, i am constantly the victim that gets no support in particular from the police. My insurance premiums increase because of the high crime stats which is mainly caused by non british as in my case a romanian who had no licence. I have car damage which i have to pay for. My car almost turned over because the way i was rammed by this non british person. What if i got killed or even crippled by the accident and i was unable to support my family and pay the bills? Yet as i stated, the insurance search quoted me an extra £200.00 for uk call centre. Typical rip off britain. Why do so many brits emigrate from the uk? because the majority are fed up with the backwards step the uk is taking.
Can anyone else recommend a uk car insurance with call centre in uk please?
    many thanks

Says he who questioned if a poster was being racist because they wanted a red replacement phone rather than a black one
