Hi,
Can someone recommend me a good deal for Bennantynes in Bristol?
The best they could offer me was 50 pounds per month plus a 70 pound
admin fee. In particular the 70 pounds is not acceptable from my point of view. Any recommendations?0 -

Not having been to Bristol I can't advise on exactly what would work but if I were you I'd go back and say you'd love the membership but the £70 puts you off and then leave your details saying "incase you have any offers comming up" (or words to that effect) they may decide to forgo the admin fee as this seems to be the first thing that vanishes when gyms have offers.0 -
Can someone please advise me of the approx price for using a council ran leisure centre gym? I have looked at Gym membership but it is way too expensive as I will only use it once a week, so thinking of using a leisure centre gym. I have looked at my local leisure centres websites but cannot find any prices.0

I'm not sure how your gym works but with my council run gym (and others in surrounding boroughs) you can pay-as-you-go and just pay whenever you want to use it. It usually works out that if you are going more then twice a week your better off with a subscription, otherwise its cheaper to pay each time you visit. Mine is currently something around £6.50 to £8 a visit (its been 2 years since I've been so I could be underestimating) or £40 a month.0 -

Hi all,
After visiting my local Greens gym last week for a look around, I got a text yesterday from them saying 'only a few more places left to get 6 weeks free, a free personal training session and no joining fee' and basically telling me to hurry up if I wanted to join. I was planning on joining this gym as it's lovely and the closest one to me, but not until March when my exams finish and I have more time. Do you think I should just go for it so I can make the most of this offer? Or will it still be there at the end of next month and they're just telling me to join now because they're short on sales?
Also, the girl said although it's a 12 month contract, I could cancel by saying I'm moving away (which I am in September, to Wales) and there would be no problem. Is this true or will I get to September, try to cancel my membership and be told by another sales advisor that I signed up for 12 months? Quite wary as I've had a lot of cr*p from Fitness First in the past with direct debits, baliffs etc. and don't fancy repeating the experience!
Thanks guys xxx0 -

I can't answer your questions I'm afraid, but get everything in writing, get signatures and names...etc before you sign up and then you at least have a claim if anything does go wrong.0
