I am being forced to take my claim to the Financial Ombudsman. This is not a company I will deal with in the future.
  • For those that have had poor service via Insure & Go claims - have you been dealing with their outsourced claims handlers called Travel Claim Services based in Southend on Sea by any chance ??

Is Insure and Go really any worse than other companies? I'm just about to buy travel insurance for the family and am really worried about doing the wrong thing as 2 of us have pre existing medical conditions!

I was wondering if anyone can offer me any advice. I recently returned from a trip to the US where i broke & fractured my elbow. I called I&G and they said if its over £500 call back, it was so i did they then said it can take a while for us to process the payment if you have the funds on a card pay it now and you can claim it back which i did as I didn’t want to wait around. I was travelling alone and there was no way that I could carry my luggage so i had to get taxis to/from the airport and I had 11 hours connection in Denver so I couldn’t check my bags in so had to pay for luggage storage. All in all Ispent £1100 and I received a cheque for £697 and they said that luggage storage/taxis would not be covered but these were all costs that i incurred as a direct result of my injury also when I paid the medical bills my credit charged me a fee which they have also said that they will not pay back, even though they told me to do it!
Kind of defeats the object of paying travel insurance when you end up £400 out of pocket! Thanks

Probably worth raising it as a complaint.

Definately worth a complaint although I suspect the policy provides cover for medical treatment but not consequential losses of the treatment
