 Well, I'm back!
Did you miss me?
I was in M&S sale for d-a-y-s, stretching my birthday & mothers day vouchers (22nd & 24th march) & two Oxfam £5 vouchers to cover my list of 'needed' items. I also used my £40 in Pigsback vouchers
Then I sorted through every last scrap of clothing I possess & donated 3 bin bags of stuff that I will never wear again to the charity shop. (inc bags, scarves etc)
I now have a wardrobe of clothes that fit & go together...:D and a big bag of clothes that I want to wear again (when I get around to losing rather a lot of Luxor)
So...drum roll... I spent £102 of which £87 was vouchers (almost £3.50 left on a giftcard) meaning £15 cash comes off my total :j
I have to admit I was stunned when I realised DH had persuaded MiL to go for a voucher rather than a white elephant, & the kids had clubbed together too!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Welcome back luxor4t :hello:

Well done to OH for his persuasive power too
Will update your total with admiration :A

Kidding;) but I have been searching for a purple wedding dress for ages for my November wedding.Did it dye okay?the stitching too?what fabric is it?
If I could get a wedding dress I love and dye it purple I would be very happy.
Seem to be a lot of wedding stuff in our local charity shops. I know you're far from me, but is this the time for wedding stuff to be everywhere? Maybe wouldn't be bad to have a go at if you find one you like.

My parcel of swimwear came this morning, so be fun and games seeing what fits........
Need to adjust my fuguire please Lula, I've been on my bargian hunts (online cheapie section www.crazyclearance.com or .co.uk always get them muddles up) there part of JDWillimams, Fashion World etc) and for £30.00 got 4 prs trs, 6 summer vests, 3 prss of shorts).
It may sound daft but this challenge has really made me think, b4 if I needed anything literatley straight into Evans and put it on the store card at 29.9%apr!!!), now if want or need anything, straight to the clearance section, of crazy clearance.
I tried on a swimsuit in Evans that was £30 - unfortunately it didnt fit,( begrude paying that much) but from the sale leaflet (on line) I've got prices between £7, and the dearest £13).
On a positive note hada top for my bday from a friend, from Sainsburys, its a size 22.......... oh heck Im a 26 gd day.......28 bad day...........24 at a push if the skirt has elastic waist...
But the top fits, so any ladies like me that are built for comfort and not speed, and arent lucky enough that their local Tesco or Asda stop at size 22...... try Sainsburys... xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hello all. I've been doing really well but have bought one new electric blue top at £6.30. I also bought another top but I'm going to take that back so it won't count!
Odd things have been happening since I started this challenge: I'm not really enjoying clothes shopping anymore:eek::rotfl:. Which I suppose is good!
On the clothes altering front well done to all those clever people who've dyed their clothes - it has inspired me to tackle the (numerous) clothes I don't wear anymore. I've just finished making my first item of clothing completely from scratch - a pair of pyjama bottoms. Hopefully I'll be able to tackle something more difficult soon.0 -
Hi, i've not been here for a few days.
I went for my colour analysis day on Sunday. It was a fab day and the verdict is that I am a 'muted Summer' which means I should wear colours on a dark summer palette. For example tea rose, burgandy, aubergeine, grey as well as the pastels, lilac, lemon, and berrie colours and cherry red.
It also turns out that I have been putting the wrong colour on my hair for years!
I have to avoid blacks, browns, orange, cream and any warm colours.
I should wear silver not gold
I now have so many many clothes that I shouldn't wear.
The day cost £90 and I spent £34.50 on make up but didn't buy any of the pashminas or tops on sale.
Not sure if it was a good investment or not0 -
Hi everyone,
it's so great to read everyone's posts, all the tips & confessions too
little_miss_money_saver ; well done you, & happy new bits for our wardrobe, our local charity shops also have a lot of wedding stuff in & i'm sure I read somewhere that Oxfam online/ebay has a selection of one off designer gowns - ex display or runway used , might be worth having a look there shelovestobuy stuff
ClipClop - welcome aboard our clothes ark  going by your user name I'm not sure whether its new hoofwear you'll be looking for, but rest assured it doesnt count :j
Mum2one - Happy New Bargainous Clothes to youI'm going to be very envious that you'll have a tan to wear them with
thoroughlybrokemillie - wow :A to making new pyjamas :T . Dont dare tell anyone :shhh: but I'm almost scared of going shoping now it's been so long I'm not sure if I remember how
Miss-spent - hope you enjoyed your day, I found that although I didnt necessarily agree with the colours I was advised to wear, that I am now aware of those that really do nothing for me. I also think that this changes depending on whether I have a tan or not. You can have a lot of fun trying out the suggestions to see the changes, very diffcult in some shops due to the lighting  but most important is that you wear what makes you feel happy & confident
Off to make adjustments again & add ClipClop before she comes to her senses

Thanks lula... ClipClop mmm that could also refer to my inability to walk into a shoe shop and leave empty handed! I think this is probably the most sensible thing i have done for a while...:DNationwide 6.9 % 1501 This one 1st
