OOOOh look at page 1 everyone - we're in the weekly moneysaving tips :j
    We're now officially fab :D :T
  • Whoa!! How cool to be the weekly MS tip!

Just checking in to say Hi!

Haven't spent any more on clothes since the last confession so the total remains the same.

Having a clear out to sell on ebay and have sold a dress from QVC I never wore :D . Made a big expected loss but is better for someone else to have rather than stay unworn with its tag on in my wardrobe :o

Have loads to put on to sell but can't be bothered listing but will make myself to do it by the end of the week!

The challenge is really making me think about spending and I am committed to it. Could do with a couple of tops and a new pair of jeans so will have to be v.carefull over the next couple of months to manage as we are only in Month 2 :o

:D Hi to sashanut, (it was me from the long haul club)- nice to see you joined the challenge - hope it helps :D

    Hi,

I've been a DFW for 7 years, I now have only 2 small debts left (out of original 17) and whilst i've found it liberating its also been my downfall. I spent so many years not being able to afford the basics let alone anything nice that now i'm almost free and i actually get my salary I've turned possession crazy and find I spend purely because I can. i need a challenge like this to reign in my spending habits before I kick start the economy all by myself!!!

Please, please, please can I join??? I dare not disclose how much I've spent already this year but am willing to run a complete 12 months from this date??
    thanks

I'd love to add Mrs Clariman to this list!! We're not in debt but if I could stop her going in to Hobbs, that would make me a very happy man! :)

Woo hoo for being in the weekly moneysaving tips. Hope everyone is well and still doing well on this crazy challenge! You know what though, crazy as it is, I am absolutely loving being part of it, I feel proud I haven't bought anything yet (OMG I cannot believe it!). I laughed when fatpiggy said her idea of hell is trailing round the shopping centre (my OH would agree), but to me that is just pure heaven! LOL. And good on you Lula and your cardi! :A Oh, and Mr Clairman made me smile too! :rotfl: Mr Primula knows about the challenge but I have made it VERY clear that the £100 is only my own money, and he can feel free to buy me any extras at any time at all! LOL. Still waiting though!

I got a lovely surprise prezzie last week from my friend though as a thank you for a wee job I did for her - a £40 M&S gift card. :j Now, normally I would have spent it by now whether I needed the clothes or not, but I have safely tucked it away in my box with my £2 a week clothes money (and the tenner my mum gave me for myself too) so I am well pleased. Keep up the good work guys.

Hello! I'm not taking part in the challenge - already bought my jeans for the next how-ever-long-they-last which has munched into the budget - but will be reading the thread for tips. I also have clothes that don't fit me as well as they used to, and when it comes to buying new stuff am trying to buy one or two good quality things rather than ten things that are 'cheap' but don't fit properly. I think that's a good way of doing it - makes you think more about what you buy and whether you really need it.

I've been reading through the thread and thinking about what I have (lots of T-shirts, lots of dresses, a few summery skirts) and what I need (jeans - though I;ve bought a new couple of pairs, replacement brown boots, replacement trainers). The worst thing is that I have bought jeans hoping to fit into them in the past, and four years on still have them! They'll be going on eBay.

I've decided for some things, I can sell off what I don't use and if I really need it in the future I can get another one! Which doesn't sound very MoneySaving to begin with, but it's turning out to be a good plan.

Lula - it was sashanut not NO BRAIN (unless they saw my post on that thread!):D

Anyway I have just updated my spending diary and realised in Jan I declared £12 on pjamas - do these count out of the £100 total? If so I will stay on my current total. If not could you add £12 onto my total left to make £71.50?

Just let me know what is right. Am off to repair a hole in a jumper underarm seam I would have thrown away previously, but not now due to wanting to make clothes last longer!:D
