Do charity shop clothes count?
(I resisted btw as I don't need a frilly edged cardigan, but I was tempted as it was £2).I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I was bought a book from WHSmiths called 'The Independent UK guide to eBay 2009' and its got everything you want to know but did cost £7.99. Tbh tho once you register on there and go onto the sell my items page, it is very easy i was amazed the first time. I am going to definitely sell some clothes now, i have sold two kiddies tops and made £15 so can i add them as extra clothes money as i did buy them some stuff today at Asda!£16.25 worth to be exact which would nearly be covered by the ebay money i earned!grocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000

Afternoon all
Luxor4t, yes charity shop stuff does countbut where else could you get a cardigan for £2, I may well be drwan to them for supplies - have very posh Weybridge nearby & loads of charity shops full of very posh gear
You'll be pleased to hear that I didnt get the fabby pink suede coat, I was so busy playing in the snow I whacked in a bid early but got gazumped or whatever the word is. Good job really as wouldnt dare to wear it in this weather, not exactly practical  & as I havent worked today & probably wont tomorrow either due to snow then I really cant afford to be buying frivolous fabbies.
Dobs, I think if you're clever & cunning enough to sell your stuff then you should definitely have the proceeds as long as it's not needed for debt repayments. I'm just sticking to the £100 + gift vouchers as all my spare cash is needed for debts
- debts incurred by such things as fabby pink suede coats on ebay
.
With my shopping virtue still intact I'm off to destroy my diet virtue with chocolate krispy cakes :shhh: dont tell Bowski
bye for now

Okay, have caved in and bought some clothes.
I went to Laura Ashley after work, they still have their sale on so I got a jumper for £10 (reduced from £35) and a skirt for £19 (reduced from £60). They are for work and I can't remember if we have a rule for work clothes. (Although truthfully the jumper is so pretty I might have to call that "me" clothes instead.) I put back a jacket and another jumper as I did not love them enough to part with cash when I only have £100.
Lula, can you let me know if there is a work clothes rule or if everything comes off the £100. *crosses fingers*Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hi all
Well done everybody so far and poorandincidental..............enjoy your lovely new clothes! This is not easy but I still feel determined. Initially I thought I would include shoes in my £100 (thankfully I didn't admit that to Lula Hula!) as I was temped by a gorgeous pair of boots in the Clarks sale - they had my name all over them - and were £89.99 reduced down to £26 so I just HAD to have them!! So my £100 is just for clothes! And I have £8 in my jar now, plus my mum gave me £10 at the weekend to get something for myself so I have popped that in my jar too. I think I am allowed that over my own £100.
Anyway keep up the good work girlies!

Hello,
sarah - I can see that you are going to be trouble & may have to sit at the front of the class where I can keep an eye on you
Not sure whether I posted this on the front page & far too lazy to go & look now BUT when I decided to do this challenge it was on the basis that I work from home so dont therefore have to have specific work clothes - I tend to wear old / fed up with stuff - therefore my £100 is based on buying new clothes that I dont really need.
I appreciate that most people do have specific work clothes so if you choose not to include those in the challenge then that seems perfectly reasonable to me
However, in view of your silly admission  that you will probably use the jumper for personal use & to prevent Buffy from screaming 'favouritism or teachers pet' then I'm taking that £10 off your total

Thanks Lula, that seems very fair:D I did need a new work skirt and it will only be used for work (and was a bloody bargain:D ) so I agree with you over the jumper (which clings so well in the right places I look like I'm about to topple over) and was also a bargain.
I can look at things and decide whether they will be useful now, rather than running to the till before someone snatches it out of my hands:D but a useful and expensive looking bargain is not to be sniffed at:D
@ Buffy I would call the shawl thing "an accessory" and the vest top "underwear" thus giving you £13 back;)Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
