Cool very helpful! I wish these funny readers some day to be fully DRM-free (so anyone can read any documents).. had some very bad xp with losing my entire library before

Calibre is perfect if you want to backup your library, it will be stored on your pc, and you can back up as you would with any other important document.
It can also help if you want to convert your your drm free files (you are not supposed to do it if they have drm though, I suggest you search google)

Ok, I am sure this has been mentioned before, but a brief scan and search of the forums doesn't really make it obvious or tell the full story.

There are plenty of threads pointing out this individual free book, or that individual free book for kindle, but is the following common knowledge?

If you go onto Amazon and click on the Kindle best sellers section of the main Kindle section, then there is an option to click on the top 100 free Kindle books in any one of 24 non fiction, and 26 fiction genres. Thats 5000 free books daily, and they change regularly.

Admittedly, some are old classics, or short stories and some are quite poorly written self published books, but there are loads of quality new books of a decent length (3-400 pages).

My particular interest is travel writing and biographies, and having had my Kindle since christmas, I have never paid for a book yet, and have read dozens and dozens of them, all on one click download.

    Enjoy!

Its much easier to search for "free kindle books" on Amazon, then you can sort them by ratings.

Seems to be a real shortage of 'good' free kindle books these days, they are either short books or romance books.
A short book is okay as a once in awhile but I would rather have a quality good length book (really need to pay  for those, but at least the odd one pops up at a bargain price).

Just been through the 100 free and nothing much to shout about, I do get the classics (I am sure I will get around to reading them, some read so far).

A good way to search is select books then click the advanced search tab, enter Kindle under format and click search.
Select Any Price and enter 0.00 - 0.01, this list the free books, you can also select a Department (type).
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
