With the gym ball coupons, do the staff not query with handing two coupons in? Or is it better to buy other items at the same time?

Hi gkf - I found the checkout with the youngest assistant on it and played dumb to start with. I handed her 4 coupons - the two for the Gymball, one for my DR stuff and one for the Aromatherapy things I had in my basket. I said 'Do I need to give these to you first? It says on the back of the vouchers to hand them to you before the transaction.' She smiled and said yes, then took them off me and scanned them through before scanning my items. She wasn't in the least bit bothered, and only got curious when she saw how little I had to pay for my many items. Even then she wasn't bothered, as the coupons all scanned through legitimately so I got my gymball for free!

If I were you, I would buy some other items at the same time so it's not too obvious. If the assistant today had pointed out I had two vouchers for the same item & couldn't use them like that, I would simply have played dumb and pretended I had just grabbed all of my vouchers from my bag and didn't realise I had two of the same, etc. Good luck if you decide to go for it, and let me know how you get on!
  • I managed to get my free TD Face wipes ,mind you at 1st the checkout lady said it was only for the Danielle Ryman products only, until I pointed it out that it was for the Time delay item too.
So thank you for letting me know about the voucher.

 As just new to this went off to Boots after memorising all the deals. It's not often i can get to the town as 20 miles away and work and everything so was determined to cease the opportunity.
Walked into Carlisle store Carlisle and was met with AC machine (which had never used before so probably had great vouchers waiting for me) to see it had 'Out of order' note on it. 2nd disappointment was that there were no yellow leaflets left. Then found there were no TD products left anyway under about £8. Shelves were stripped of all cheap EA products except for 2 handcreams that were reduced from £2 down to £1 so cheerily put them in my basket. Then bought some No7 make up which didn't really need to get the free nail set and another £5 worth of stuff that didn't really need to get my £3 voucher for spending a tenner. This all took about an hour. Heard SAs talking about people coming in and buying between 10 and 20 TD products at a time (this does sound a bit OTT!) Anyway got to till, very nervous, and gave her the 2 vouchers for the EA handcreams I'd got - she tried them but the bloomin till wouldn't accept them - so I in a very squeaky voice asked her to please take them back off. Went out, came back in 10 mins later and got a tin of nice hair spray with my £3 off voucher (only good point in day). How unlucky is that - first time and don't think I'll ever venture into Boots again ....

stick with it angus, its all part of the 'fun' :rotfl: .. had a nightmare today myself.. had never seen any cheap EA products in my local stores until today.. some pillow mist thingy priced at £2, great I thought.. headed off to the till with that, a TD body lotion an BOGOF boots shampoo & conditioner..

firstly the SA said I couldn't use the voucher for the TD as it wasn't the right product, after my pointing it out on the leaflet and on the bottle she eventually scanned the voucher! used the other voucher for the EA pillow mist spray £2.. and off I went happy with my haul.. on looking at the receipt outside I noticed that the £1 off voucher hadn't been deducted from the EA item, went back in to query this... BIG MISTAKE!!... 15 mins later, queues a mile long and 4 SA's supervisors etc voiding, suspending, rescanning, points on, points off card, scrutinising voucher, EA item, more scanning, voiding.... it went on, did say a number of times to leave it, but they were determined to find out why it wouldn't scan.. I mentioned that perhaps it was because it was a minature item, they said no, wasn't mentioned on voucher that they was excluded from offer... by now they had to open another till as a lengthy queue of tutting people had formed *sorry folks* :o

anyway they didnt get to the bottom of it.. I said please leave it, and scuttled off red faced... didn't dare venture back in later to use another TD voucher! :D

I had an EA mini that didn't work with the coupon as well mich_city. Perhaps that's another line of text that got left off the voucher...

I wish there were Customer Services areas that you could use in Boots, instead of having to go back to a random cashier who may or may not have the authority to change anything anyway. It's a horror being the one 'holding up the queue' even when you've got a legitimate reason for going back.

I also tried a EA £1 voucher against a reduced product and it did not come off. When I queried it the SA said "it won't work on reduced items or we would be giving it away for nothing". So I said " yes, that seems to be the case with other things at the moment too". Just gave in and took the voucher away to use another day!

Palescene, Kirstielou and 80934 sorry to hear you had problems with your EA vouchers. Do any of you remember exactly which reduced EA minis it was for? In my local store they had about 7 minis but they were £1.99 each and on a 4 for 3 offer. I thought I might get one of them next week....what do you think? They were not reduced. My EA voucher however worked on my reduced orange candles on Saturday so a little confused  TIA
