Used to have a Skoda Estelle, then more recently a Skoda Superb.
They've come a long way!
You'll be very happy with that Octavia.0 -
yeah me and hubby are really pleased with ourselfs for buying "sensible" its got all the mod cons u could want at the fraction of the cost of vw we went for the elegance model0

Just put some gaffer tape over the badge on the steering wheel and pretend to be in an Audi lol0

Great car! Used to have an Octavia diesel estate, economical, reliable, did what it said on the tin for a lot less than the equivalent VW (and the dealer service was better too!!). Enjoy it.0

i used to drive a Skoda Fabia 1.9 tdi and it was the most economical yet powerful car i have ever driven.
I once went to Manchester from London and back on a £30 tank, i got something like 70mpg!
Trust me you will not be disappointed with your Skoda, assuming the pervious owners have looked after it well, also the parts are cheap as chips.
e.g. when i had to do a major service on my fabia, i got the 4xfilters (oil, air, fuel, pollen) and the PD deisel engine oil from the skoda dealer for £50!
Only problem is the interior and dash are ugly but the real beauty is the engine and performance.Sup'0 -
Excellent choice. I needed to replace my Old Octavia, and couldn't get a diesel DSG, so bought a SEAT instead. Bad move.
Don't believe people who say that Skoda/SEAT/VW/Audi are the same - I have had trouble since day one, and very poor dealer service from SEAT.
My colleague has a Golf Plus - same story, poor reliability, poor dealer, high cost. Friend has an Audi A3, poor reliability, good dealer, high cost!
My wife and I have had 3 Skodas, all excellent cars, dealer very good, every time.
I've learned my lesson!!0 -
Lot of used to have's, so joining in I used to have a Octavia 2.0TDi Elegance, with Xenons etc but traded it in last year...................................
And bought a Octavia 2.0FSi vRS,:j when they were doing the deal with 18" Alloys, Centre Console, Rear Electric Windows etc and again added Xenons to the order. Plus I got 3 Years Free Servicing. Not as economical as the Diesel but with 200BHP under the bonnet what did I expect.
If you can get over the Green Skoda Badge, they are a great Car.
I do laugh at the new Renault advert, as I would never of said say 7 years ago I would of had a Skoda... Still wouldn't have a Renault though.... they're Ffffffrrrrreeeeeench!!! (In an Al Murray Style)Cheers

My DH had an Octavia before he got his Galaxy, he loved it.
If Skoda had made a large (like Galaxy) people carrier I think he would have stuck with them.
I got a Suzuki GV, likewise if they made a SUV style 4x4, I might have bought it.0 -
doesnt it have the flat cap and small yaping dog accessory , volkswagon think of everything these days
couldnt do it myself , just dont have the heart , perhaps i need to age 30 years ? , we have vrs cars and the pride of the fleet is a honda crx delsol , says it all really , no room whatsoever , totally impracticule , great turn of speed with near perfect handling and more elecs like elec roof than can ever possible be needed0 -
If you take it to a Skoda main dealer for a service or repair work, it will feel just like an Audi...in your wallet!
I have bought two new Skoda Fabias for my company this year and so far they've behaved impeccably.0
