I'm that aunt that sits in the corner seeing everything in black and white. I've been to hell and back, sitting crying about how hard done by I am only made me crumble and blame the world. Until I sat down and said yes its a flipping mess not created by me but now its my mess and no-one else will sort it. I dont do the there there aproach (you have plenty other who will) I do the get up shake yourself and get it sorted, if you dont like it feel free to keep feeling unhappy and out of control. cant believe at 8am this morning i had halifax on the line giving me hard time about not receiving this months money. i explained everything to them as told by CCCS but they were really pushy asking if i had any jewellery i could sell, or a mum or dad that could help. or could any of my dependants! how i was going to incur charges the longer it went on and really pushing me to let them pass me on to someone who could said up a payment plan there and then. i told them i did not know yet what money if any was available to set up a plan but they kept pushing saying CCCS were notorious taking forever to set up plans and how it wasnt going to be them on bad debt list and on and on and lloyds bank were not much better last week.
All i wanted to add homealone is that unfortunately the situation regarding calls is only going to get worse so to avoid giving yourself more stress, I would recommend changing your phone number to stop getting these calls. You can ask them to stop but it is unlikely that they will stop without you taking the complaint to the financial ombudsman which is what I did in the end. and then they finally stopped.
I probably sound like a parrot because I always recommend people change their number to avoid harassing calls like this.
Hope that you find the best solution for your situation.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -

Hi BH - I agree to a point that we all have to sort our own mess out (or the mess thats landed on us!) but we usually have a period of feeling sorry for ourselves/hard done by etc before we realise we are the only ones who can take action and sort it out. Glad you had that time to think then act. Thats what most of us do and that is what OP is doing - she is just at a different stage at the moment but taking the positive action to move forward.
Happy New Year everyone!!

I think your best bet is to forget what CCCS has said, they are financed by creditors, and as already said there has been a few too many cases of bad advice of late, maybe get a second opinion from CAB or NDLThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0

BH-for the last 5 years i have been disabled and housebound, more often than not, have stayed in one room for months at a time. what little strength i have is usually taken up with getting myself washed, dressed and fed with the help of a carer. thats on the good days on the bad days i dont even manage those. i come on here on the days i can and offer whatever advice and help that i can and i dont feel guilty asking the same of others when something like this happens. my husband walked out on us and i have not heard a word from him since, the day after he left i had an accident in my wheelchair in a bus and was hospitalised for a week. while in hospital instead of my husband making sure i or my kids were ok and did not have the broken neck they suspected he was busy emptying my bank account and packing everything he could into a car he had bought with those funds. so yes i am feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment and comments like yours are not helping. if you have nothing nice to say then please say nothing0

Hiya honeybunny, :hello:
I'm ever so sorry you didn't get what you wanted from CCCS.
I can't get your numbers to make sense to me yet so I'd better not comment on that aspect until my brain kicks into gear.
I just wanted to suggest taking all the info down to the Debt Advisor at CAB and going through it with them in person. (If you get a grumpy one then ask if you could speak to someone else.)
It may be my lovely that the best option for you is bankruptcy, so having a read up about that might be useful.
I really hope that you start feeling more positive soon,
Big hugs,
