Your son is 18? if so Dla should be paid to him now, or is that due to his disabilaty?

But either way that is NOT your income, and should NOT be on YOUR I&E.

DLA is not for his normal keep so to speak, that should come from elswhere, but if any expense is higher due to his disabilaty that is on your I&E(which i cant see any) it should be used to offsett that

Can you break down just what the benefits bit is made up of?

i did not put his dla on the form but it came up in conversation when i was talking about his driving lessons etc and she said well i wont count it if its being used for him amd yes i have it paid to me for reasons of disability. i get dla high component for care and mobility and incapacity benefit and now receive full housing benefit 25% council tax benefit and £91.01 weekly child tax credit hth

i cant see how they get that figure either. if i call them would they have a break down on their computer?????? i have to ring them anyway, cant believe at 8am this morning i had halifax on the line giving me hard time about not receiving this months money. i explained everything to them as told by CCCS but they were really pushy asking if i had any jewellery i could sell, or a mum or dad that could help. or could any of my dependants! how i was going to incur charges the longer it went on and really pushing me to let them pass me on to someone who could said up a payment plan there and then. i told them i did not know yet what money if any was available to set up a plan but they kept pushing saying CCCS were notorious taking forever to set up plans and how it wasnt going to be them on bad debt list and on and on and lloyds bank were not much better last week.did i get wrong end of stick by thinking that maybe interest would be cut or reduced amount be asked for? i am more confused now than i was in beginning

    Hi,
sorry to hear about your experience with CCCS. Bat is certainly on the right track, but i am a little confused by your benefits.

Your sons DLA is not relevent, and it seems your income is entirely made from benefits. You say you receive that you get full HB but only 25% council tax benefit, which I find a little odd.

I know you say that you receive inc ben, but that probably has a little top up of income support ( basic inc support plus dis premium ) in which case you should get full council tax ben also.

There is no way that any of your income should go to pay creditors, whether in an DMP or BR.

BR looks a good option for you based on the info you have given

not sure what you mean about where she got the 191 from but the 7.50 was repair warranty on lap top but thats a whole other story

You've included £191 for your halifax loan in your outgoings, this should be down with your unsecured debts, and included in the DMP.

So, already there's £191 surplus, plus the £15 she took from presents, £106 she took off housekeeping, that all comes to a surplus of £312, she must have taken £10 off something else to get to her £322.

I'm not saying she's right, but that look like how she's got to that amount of surplus.

  • There are a few holes in there two, such as travel, how much do you spend on taxis/busfare?

I had already paid most of council tax for year so they just added £485 to bring up to year total and said i would definitely get 25% off for definite but they could not say more than that until next year but everyone else also says should get full amount. yes only income is benefits the inland revenue so far have been the only people interested in me having money to live on. they actually said if all you have is benefits coming in then none of it should go to debtors but now i dont know what is right after all if you receive income support you are still expected to pay your bills so i can see how they would think its the same for me. out of the £26,000 approx debt all husband is liable for is approx £3000 of ctc overpayment which was in both names but if they had pulled their finger out in first place and put claim in both names we would both be liable but as they not hassling me for money am not going to contact them and argue the toss have been battling that one for years and getting nowhere fast

i have a freedom pass which makes buses free and get money off taxis which i only ever use for hospital so would only be about £5 a month at most

peachyprice- yes i can see now how she got that surplus it was the halifax i messed up calculating. if i do frind this missing surplus does everything else she said do able in that do i then have to use that to pay all 4 debtors or just the 3 by minus the inland revenue and does this then mean no one will reduce anything??? i cant cope with this hanging over me for 7 years 8 months and he pays nothing
