Is CSA1 an exact science? (if so where can I get a copy of the formula) -merged-

Perish the thought, but your comment really made me chuckle!

Just to clarify, although not strictly relevant, if I had a 2nd CSA case from another PWC, both cases would be CSA2 - right?

Yes. If you got another woman pregnant and she made a claim through the CSA then both cases would be CSA2, HOWEVER, the first case would take 5 years to phase over from CSA1 to CSA2. So the payments for the first one would slowly decrease from CSA1 payments to CSA2 whilst the 2nd would be CSA2.

Confusing I know but it is so that the first PWC doesn't suddenly get a drop in her maintenance.

You wouldn't suddenly start paying 25% of your wage (which it would be for 3 kids - 2 with first and 1 with 2nd), that would take 5 years.

    I am afraid not.

I agree. The 13 week rule is for PWC if they wish to move from CSA1 to CSA2.

officially being sacked is what it will be. Nothing deliberate about it. I could claim sickness if i really wanted to.

In that case then you would pay £7.00 per week from any benefit you get. But any arrears you have (do you?) would still be there should you ever choose/be able to go back to work - they don't get wiped off.

I can see it from both sides actually Mark but I make it a rule not to get stressed about CSA stuff over the Christmas period (and it's my birthday today too!) so I shall refrain from commenting!:D

£7 a week, would that leave me with £53 Jobseekers or is it £61-something after £7 quid goes to PWC?

and a big Hippo birdie two ewes to you Loopy Girl
The CSA is unjust, oppressive and discriminates men. If you tell me otherwise then 2 and 2 is 5, and you have a Ph.D in rendering bovine fecal matter.
