Gutted, I asked for USC vouchers for crimbo and have got 60 quids worth here, is there anything I can do?

Spend them perhaps, they'll still be open tomorrow;)

They've not actually gone bust and closing down, they've just gone into administration.

Ask for cash instead of vouchers in future

Thanks, I never thought of that...

Yea I've realised that in the last few minutes, thanks. Just the way the news was broken to me was as though the gift vouchers were now useless. S'pose I just have to time it right now and buy stuff from there as the prices drop and before any decent stuff is gone and my vouchers are effectively void

It mostly sells overpriced designer tat to people younger and thinner than me.
A very lucrative market...but doesn't last forever...only until the young, slim customers are not so young and slim any longer.
The new batch of Young/Slims then go for a new brand for young/slim...and so on.

Very profitable for a short space of time (say 4 years).

Another whammy to the landlords....administration, get shot of a few leases....back in business the next week.

That's why the jeans markdown wasn't huge. Genuine 'going bust' markdowns are far bigger than that.
Good news i suppose for those that like their designer clobber, was in there yesterday and the Diesel jeans that i were looking at had a massive discount from £145 down to £130:rolleyes:

    Any links?

Yes its a fairly well known fashion chain, been around i think for around the last 5-7 years.

Might be able to pick them up now for under 70 bucks.

I think 2009 will be a good year for bargain hunters:D

Never heard of them. £145 for a pair of jeans, thats why. I can get 20 pairs of jeans in Primark for that and still have change for a couple of pints.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
  • Apparently Sir Tom Hunter has just ponied up the money to buy them, cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe you've never heard of Tom Hunter!

He already owned the company through a different business, so it may not be as foolish as first imagined.

No, but perfectly legal of course. Clear debts through administration, then pick up company having stuffed the creditors. Nice one. Is he a Sir yet? Oh well, I'm sure if he carries on like this he soon will be.

edit: Oh yes of course, he is a Sir. Standards and decency, gotta love these people.
