The OP should do what is best for her own family.....regardless of most of the opinions on here!

The reason for her and bf not living together are between her and bf....passing judgment on other people must seem to be so easy via the web.

The OP was looking for advice not judgement, and as 1 helpful person pointed out, the cost of running 1 home minus extra benefits would probably work out much the same as running 1 home with benefits and 1 home without.

I wish the op well in what ever SHE decides.

Wow, it's amazing how fast life moves. B/F was looking for a mortgage in September, OP a home whilst employed in October (child would then have been 7 months).

If this isn't a wind up, surely the family concept is much greater in value than what handouts can be given.

But you're completely ignoring the fact that we're all involved, not only as site members but as taxpayers who are funding HER choices. You have to view these sort of enquiries within this context; the money doesn't just drop from the skies, it comes from our pockets which give us a right to have an opinion.

Well I speak as someone who is offically a working lone parent to a 4.5 year old, but pregnant to my boyfriend.
We split up then I found out 2 weeks later I was pregnant, we only got back together 2 months ago but were unsure what we were going to do.
Finally decided to give it a proper go and he is moving back in in 2 weeks when his notice is up on the place he's in.

We will of course be worse off by living together but IMO being a proper family means more to me than my tax credits and help with childcare.

Of course we dont know the circumatsnces of the OP but when people ask the question and it seems to revolve around wether they will be better off or not I'm not surprised people get peed off, £1500 a month is a decent wage, my OH is only on £40 a day!

To the OP, go for it, you might not get your rent paid, milk tokens etc but being a proper family unit IMO outweighs all of that.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all the best for when you two get back together, there will be hard times and there will be good times with memories to hold onto forever :D :blushing: ....make the most of it and enjoy everyday with your family....life is so precious and especially with little ones because at the blink of an eye they are all grown up....all the best:beer:

And that is exactly what has got the country into the pickle it is in. There is no one to judge and say something is not right anymore. What is so wrong about hearing or reading the facts as presented then deciding whether it is right or wrong? We all have our own set of values, obviously mine and the OP's are poles apart but none the less when you post on a public forum looking for ways to ensure the taxpayer continues to fund your existence then you must expect a bit of flack. Having your cake and eating it is the saying that comes to mind.

I am closing this thread because some people are not respecting Andreas request or Martin's take on the benefits board.
