how come you state you have been with them for 5 years?
the whois record states this site is not even one month old yet
and if it was an affiliate thing, why was it not an affiliate URL?
.
funny how 15 cut and paste posts "promoted" this host
another coincidence is that you joined in January this year (about the same time the host was registered)0 -
yea sorry about that, im still doing research on affiliate marketing. I admit im not the best, but i am trying and i just need advise on it. Sorry about the cut and paste thing as well. I just got carried away, i just have an affiliate account with alot of hosting companies, but i dont know how to put the url in.
Hope that clears things up, just wondering what hosts you guys are with or any, and if u guys can give me tips as im stil learning about internet marketing.0 -
Yeah. Whatever.
Posting anything that gives you personal gain on MSE is not allowed here. So either way it would have been :spam:
...affiliate schemes have rules and I am sure spamming an affiliate URL will soon get you chucked off the scheme0 -
my bad, i hadnt read the rules, will read them now, pass the info to antispam as well that it was a mistake. I have deleted all the previous comments, and now hopefully we can move on.0

I use ehosting.com for my web hosting, and have found their tech support very good (response to an email within 10-15 minutes at 1 or 2am with a resolution to the issue - most other places I've dealt with have taken days!)
I pay them around £8 per month for hosting 4 websites for me.
An organisation I work with use 1 & 1 for their hosting, and I personally haven't had any problems with them, other than them disabling the website the day after the payment was due (due to the credit card used by them expiring and us forgetting to update it on their website).
A company which I've seen recommended but not used yet is www.squarespace.com - they have their own online editor, so you can design your site using that (and drag content about) I also think it's free, which is good!
Hopefully you can have a look through the various companies and find one which suits you best.
If you're wanting to put high bandwidth stuff like videos or music on the site, or anticipate lots of UK/European visitors to your site, I'd recommend a host based in the UK or Europe - as that way you're not sending data halfway across the world, and so there are less places for delays or limited capacity to affect your site.
I have developed my site on sqaurespace and want to now but my own domain name- i.e without the squarespace.com bit- do i just buy a domain name and then point that to the squarespace site-how is that done?0 -
Once you have settled on a host, you can then buy a domain name. You'll need to log in to the domain hosts site, and from there you can change the nameservers. Any decent domain registrar will have a help guide for this.
You will need to get the nameserver details from your host (usually provided on the site and in the welcome email). It's actually quite easy.
What this does is 'point' the domain name at your host space. You simply upload the website you have designed to the root folder of your hosting space and it should display within 24 hours. There is no need to transfer the domain to the host company (most charge about £11 or £12 to do so anyway).0 -
buy a co.uk domain from https://www.123-reg.co.uk for £6.88 for 2 years, then login to the panel (1 hour later) and go to dns then you can specify the nameservers to send the domain tooSilenced by the Gestapo :rotfl:0

I use and have used UK REG for the past nine years and they are very good. You get competative domain registration and lots of free services.
Check the transfer fee of the company you choose as they may sting you if you try to move.0
