RCB - Don't really know what to say. Im not going to try and lie to you and defend them!!
Im a student social worker, and we have learnt about mental health, and about lots of social workers who have not done their job properly here, which has led to the patient/service user harming themself or others.
All the right policies and legislations are in place, but mental health workers and social workers sometimes don't follow these sometimes!!
Has your OH's mom got a key-worker???? If not, she really needs one!!!!!
The key-worker should be the 1st person to call if she starts having problems!! He will then contact the home treatment people, who should make a visit within 24hrs depending on the severity of situation.
I agree the other person might have been worse than her, but as she was showing suicidal feelings, and has had previous mental health problems, she shouldn't just have been left to wait, should have been treated as an emergency and visited straightaway to section!!
I also doubt that all the workers had to go to the other patients house, surely someone should have been available in an emergency like this???
Hope she gets the medication and treatment she needs hun, but i would not let them get away with this...complain to the higher managers and directors...so this doesn't happen to another person!! xx0 -
RCB - does seem a bit harsh that they left you both swinging in the wind, trying to deal yourselves. I'm quite disappointed as I always thought that a medical section thing was quite an emergency & would be treated as such. I hope they arrive soon as then you will have your OH back with you again. I prescribe 3 extra large hugs tonight - each! Please make sure you fill that prescription as I promise it will make you both feel better
Really don't know why I'm still awake! I should be tucked up under my duvet on the sofa but I am still feeling quite alert.Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -

RCB lots of hugs for you and OH's family, you've got such a great attitude, most inspiring

Night LittleJem, sleep well
Please let me know how you get on with a slow cooker as I hear they are great but I'm not sure. So would be good hearing from someone else who has never used one before once you had a few goes
Sally hiI've got a really wicked cough right now (of the coughing up a lung variety) sometimes dry er, sometimes I think they call it 'productive' & I found if I lay down it makes me cough really badly & wakes me (& bf) every 15-20 minutes, with me gasping for breath as if I'm choking as well as coughing. So the last few nights I have been down on the sofa using the recliner part of it so I'm still sitting upright-ish & it is much better for my chest
Managing to actually get about 40 - 50 mins of each hour asleep.
Trust me, once the cough is manageable again, I will be straight back into our bed as it is Memory Foam & w o n d e r f u l ! ! !Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -
Right I'm off, I think I finally caught up with the comps. One night off and there are millions appear! Night all, sleep well. Hope you don't cough too much VG.

Aww, hope the cough gets better soon!!
Do you smoke??
You taken anything for it???
Try Gaviscon, could be heartburn coming up as a cough?
Just a suggestion you could get second opinion on??
Seen the doctor??
He should refer you to hospital for tests to find out whats wrong
I was thinking you were in the doghouse for something, so you were kipping on the sofa!! :rotfl:
I got memory foam mattress just before xmas, had best nights sleep ever for the first few days, then went back to not being able to sleep again!
But i don't mind as much now, just use the time to enter comps!! :T0
