I was thinking, and because I am eeeevil here's a few things I thought of...(please note I'm not suggesting you try them .....well, I guess you could:D ) just to cheer you up.

    3. Run out of toilet rolls. (I actually did this...I stopped putting the ones I paid for in the bathroom as no one else was buying any, I keep my own stash in my bedroom - the last one in there ran out yesterday teehee. Well, I'm not paying for his mates to wipe their bottoms.)

    8. If he has a habit of leaving dirty clothes lying around, make sure they're lying around a bit more......let his mates see what he's really like. No need, they're already there!!! Ew.

Am interested in how it came about you agreed to this party in the first place...has he shown any signs of appreciation or gratitude - 'cos it's a pretty big ask....or does he just assume he can do as he likes... He caught me at a weak moment - it was at someone else's party, and in front of loads of people, and he was begging about having a party for his birthday, I was kinda guilted into it!!! Must toughen up!

I don't know, maybe I'm getting too worried, he's not a bad guy, just really stupid and dozy. I doubt he'd do anything nasty on purpose, but it's just whether he's responsible enough to make sure people behave properly. It's like having a teenage son!

I think I get concerned because I know if anything happens to the house, it's just more work for me, it's not like I can delegate the responsibility to anyone else! And I am *quite* lazy, so extra, unnecessary work is never
    appreciated!

Will be sure to report in with the good news/body count tomorrow evening! :D

I honestly can't believe you're letting this go ahead. Its your house. You shouldn't have to move your things or baricade yourself into your room. Thats so far out of order its untrue.

    :D

hmmmm - essexgal remembers going to 'teenage son' parties..... :o

    :D:D:D

Hope it goes okay and like you say just worrying unnecessarily - not sure I'd let someone have a party in my house if I wasn't there but maybe he'll surprise you (in a good way I mean).

  • Hey Hey,

Pleasantly surprised, house is looking very clean, no lodgers anywhere to be seen! (I suspect someone else cleaned up, because it's been done by someone who CLEANS rather than just "cleans", and the box we put the recyling in has been thrown in the bin! But I couldn't give a stuff who actually did the cleaning, so long as it's clean!

So big sigh of relief, my house is still standing!! :D

keep us informed as to whether he keeps the good behaviour going or slips back into 'habits'.

  • Ha ha, maybe!! Let's try suggesting other stuff, see if it works...

Well, I think a good lodger is one that remembers that it's customary to provide their landlord with good quality chocolate on a regular basis...
  • Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Was in my room at about 9.30 last night when someone hammered really heavily on the front door. I ran down to answer it to find Lodger 1's GF (yes, the psycho bunny-boiler one) at the door. I said Hiya, she blanked me and said (in grumpy voice) "Is L1 in?"

I didn't realise he was (he's very rarely in at the moment) so I said "Oh, I'm sorry, I don't think he's actually in..." but before I could finish the sentence she pushed passed me into MY house and started shouting up the stairs for him. Turns out he'd popped in to get changed and they were going somewhere with her mate, who was waiting outside in the car AND COULD NOT WAIT ANY LONGER.

I was so stunned I didn't even say anything to her - but on feeling the red mist descend and my fists clenching I went into the kitchen, to avoid ending up on an assault charge. Who the hell does that girl think she is?

Grrr. I've considered having a word with Lodger 1 (but I never see him!) however, I'm not sure it would do any good, if she's got him hypotised enough that he agrees to go out with her despite her being such an unstoppable b1tch, I'm guessing he'd only take her side anyway. So I've decided that if I ever answer the door to her again, I will be prepared and if she's rude to me she'll be asked to wait outside. Snow or no snow. I can't believe someone would behave like that. I well aware that she doesn't like me. The only reason I can think of is I share a house with her BF and also have ovaries therefore am obviously a boyfriend-stealing hooer. She can think and talk about me however the hell she likes when she's not at my house, but she has no right to come to MY HOME and be so rude and disrespectful. And aggressive, quite frankly!

So then, after calming down from that, I went ahead this evening to do my chores. Lodger 2 has a load of bottles left out on the worksurface after his party, so I thought I'd sort out the drinks cupboard so they could go in there (see, nice landlady). At which point I find that the 2 and a half bottles of Amaretto left in my drinks cupboard (I last had some about 7 months ago, as I've been on painkillers a lot since then and haven't been drinking much) is now down to less than half a bottle. And Lodger 2's favourite drink happens to be the marzipanny-goodness that is amaretto. Soooo not amused.

It's kinda hard to prove as it's been such a long time, so it could have gone missing ages ago, or been drunk slowly over that time (or drunk on Saturday night!!!) so I'm not sure whether to say anything or not. To be honest, I'm sick of having stupid !!!!!! like this to address. I shouldn't have to say this stuff. I now have my shower gel, face wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss and toilet roll hidden in my bedroom, don't tell me I have to start hiding my spirits too??!

    Come OOONNNNNNNNNN lottery win!!!! :rotfl:

On the plus side, got three MSs booked in this month so far :)

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

    Quite....;) ....and breathe....

Looks like you'll have to get a lockable cupboard for your drinks too...........or else put up his rent some and use that to cover the loo rolls, milk, booze and your therapy:D ......just make sure that you 'ration' it out so he doesn't use it all up in one go.......

Lodger 1's girlfriend sounds a nightmare - get a chain fitted to the door....she can't get in then....:rotfl:

  • Ha ha definitely! There should be a landlady mental health surcharge!! :rotfl:

And yes, she is a nightmare. Maybe we should have a bunnyboiler therapy pot too?

Sadly I can't have a chain on the door as I've just got a shiny new DG one put on. I can ignore her knocking though. Silly bint!
