Lil-me - I love York and the Railway Museum. But, they have a funny security system in the shops there. Last time I visited (about 8 years ago) every time I went into and out of a shop, the security alarms went off. Turned out it was my mobile phone intefering with them! I ended up having to walk into shops holding the phone high saying "it's alright, it's only this!"
Johanne - the stick blender massacre - love it! :rotfl: I trust you told OH where to go with his plastering?
Alwayshappy - welcome - don't worry, the thread isn't normally this big I think it's just because several of us are on leave from work
Welcome Tilli-Tot, Scrooge - Toots will be along later to officially meet and greet you
Aww Dusty - hugs and parrots for you and soothing chicken soup
Summer - can you send the kids outside in the freezing cold to play?
Frodders - it's ferkin' freezin' here too, just along the coast from you. The frost is still about.

Well, I've cleared my signature ready for the new year. Looked at Uswitch this morning to see if I could reduce my gas/elec bills and I can. Almost signed up through Quidco (will give me £20) but then thought no - wait until tomorrow so you can claim it as a 2009 gain when it comes through from Quidco :rotfl:

I ought to go into town today. I have some M&S vouchers to use up PDQ (just in case they go into admin!). I also ought to think about a bit of nibbly type food.

DS and DiL aren't sure what they're doing tonight - DiL doesn't finish work until 9pm. DS thought about going over to a friend of his so I suggested his friend might like to come here with his GF. But, it seems no decisions have been made yet. None of them particularly want to go out on the town. It's a bit frustrating not knowing. But, if I get in stuff which can freeze if not eaten, then it'll be OS really.

But, I really ought to get dressed and do some s&sing and then think about going into town.

To be fair to AnW's Mum -

it doesn't say which New Year :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Although I think she'll use that as an excuse to get out of it - maybe even for many years to come!

(Come to think of it, I'm not sure my post said WHICH New Year!) ;):p

    Did yours Toots?

  • Morning ladies and the lovely oddjob (I hope you stick with us - your posts always give me a chuckle xx)

I am up and raring to go.....NOT!!! But I will scale the dizzy heights of my ironing mountain and the list so dont know if I will get on here today very much - you lot are too much of a very very nice distraction!!!!!

I hear and have taken on board what you have all been saying about folding not ironing but when something has been lying for .....a long time in the mnountain I have no alternative but to iron it as it is soooooooo creased - but next year will be different - have started already, yesterdays full load only produced one thing that needed pressed!!!
dusty hugs honey - hope you feel better soon - try and have a nap or is that a silly suggestion?
TAG hello and what a list! its almost as big as mine but I know you will whizz through it with your usual style and efficiency!!
SSSupergirl glad to be of assistance!! Are you feeling better today - remember the budget when you go shopping!!!!

:xmastree: tilli-tot and scrooge you are both very welcome to joinn us we love it when lurkers come out of lurkdom!!

I am going to copy one of my earlier posts up here just in case you missed it - sorry to bore the rest of you!!!!

The thread is getting so popular that it is difficult to keep up especially if you are working or just busy. Just post when you can and maybe read back a page and you will soon pick up whats going on - we wont be offended if you havent read every post0- although its a good excuse if you are trying to avoid doing something!!:rotfl:
Please dont think that our houses are all shiny neat and tidy (well mine aint!) just because we post lists -We are all here because we need to be - and we find that following pigpen's lists make such a difference = she keeps us all on track with her golden feather duster and fluffy mules!!!!

Here are just a few suggestions to help you along!

Make sure you read the first post with all the info and abbreviations.

A new list is added every evening (this weeks is a bit different but we will be back to normal next week) and you do it to whatever level you can manage depending on your home circumstances - ie children work OH's health etc

There is no such thing as failure on here - every little thing you do is success!
Remember your house didnt get in a mess overnight and wont get tidy in a day - you need to take BABYSTEPS. It gets easier every week with every little step you take!
We have loads of fun but the support and encouragement is simply THE BEST!!!
Ask any questions and we will try to answer you -with either a very sane answer or a totally off the wall insane one!!!

Welcome to the totally bonkers mad house!!!!

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT HOGMANAY!!!

The above message is for Toots from W :D and translates as: of course Mummy didn't mean this New Year or she wouldn't have time to play with me and my sister. So have chill, have a beer with us (he couldn't do the :coffee: smilie!) and think of all the electrically that Mummy is saving by not ironing, isn't she an angel :D
