Boddy - with the bike - have you thought about wheeling it down the police station and handing it in as lost property? If it's not claimed after, I think, six months, you get to keep it. You could then sell it:D

Mudders - good on your DH not letting you spend your money on CC stuff.

Well, ladies and gents, I have experimented this evening.

    ..........With mousse and a hairdryer.

As Rach will doubtless testify, these items do not normally enter my radar except on high feasts and ballgown times. I usually wash, brush and go meaning it hangs around rather limply. The next morning, I usually have to wash again because it's all over the place.

Fed up with washing every morning, I've done the mousse and drying. Hopefully, that will mean, tomorrow morning, all I have to do is put a damp brush through it to get it into some sort of reasonable shape.

    That's my hope anyway!

Glad to hear the news from Germany Pigpen.

Today both OH and I have been working on the kitchen.

We have stripped the sealant at the back of the worktops, filled the gaps and put new sealant in. (may need more tomorrow)

Cleaned the window, ledge and all the pots thereon. (I really dislike dust gatherers but they were pressies)

    Scrubbed the bin (yerrrrch)

Dried 2 loads of washing, folded and put away (If OH wants his shirts ironed he can do them himself)

    Run and emptied DW

Done a run to Tesco to pick up DD2 and take her home with her shopping (didn't go in myself):j

I've also been sorting out what I am going to say to my solicitor tomorrow re medical negligence claim. It's been going on for over 3 years now and the other side have made an offer. This sum of money will pay off all our CCs,
Bank Loan and the car loan leaving us debt free appart from the mortgage. :D
It's been a stressful time and if I take it to court instead I may get more. However in view of the fact that OH's current job finishes at the end of this month and the situation being so iffy for the future I think I am going to take the money and at least be able to survive for now.

I'd also like to overpay the mortgage if OH can find some more work - he will probably be able to get temp work, it's what he has been doing since he was made redundant in July 07. I have a fix at the moment until June 2010 so I will have to look into how much I can overpay, I've never been in a position to do this before so have no idea.

I also need to get my crown sorted out but the dentist isn't back until tues (sorry Pigpen it's going back in I need o save every penny I can:rotfl: )

Anyway I have to go and make bread or I will starve tomorrow at work.

  • as said before its the washing loads i hate the most. i hate it for the simple fact that i have nowhere to hang things on, but once i'm a bit more flush i will invest in a bigger and better indoor airer- grrrrrrrr

if i could just get into the way of hanging my clothes up instead of throwing them on the spare bed!!!

but a new start and all that, i am determined to be tidier this year and coming on here helps motivate me!!

maybe we should have a before and after pic and people when become more determined to tidy if the whole world sees the state of it!!! lol

*edit- i see ur all talking about your "shiny sinks" the thread is tooooo long to trail through to find it but how ru al doing it? is it just cleaning it normally or a little secret?

    Welcome to any newbies :hello:

Toochoosey - what did they think of Winterwonderland? DS and GF were quite disappointed when they went with their D of E group.

    Gryfon - get well (((((hugs)))))

Lil_me - hope your DS has had a great birthday.

Oooh Boddy - how would that work?

I'm still trying to catch up with the thread, but:

DS and I did another HHC in his room and he has floor :T with carpet :T. Seriously, we have raked out debris from under the bed, the wardrobe, the chest of drawers, we have folded and out away, dumped in the laundry basket or the bin and it's looking good. He has a pile on his lounger which he needs to sort out tomorrow, but when it comes round to kids rooms this week, I willbe able to vacuum properly, and he said he can probably do the dusting if his head's OK. (Nikki, Hellsbells - are you sensitive to smells, light, noise? We have to check all perfumes and cleaning products with him)

I have also made OH cook the roast dinner when he came back from climbing (not immediately - I'm not that mean :D) while I did the ironing, so once again I have no ironing in my basket!:T

We have taken down the decorations today and, although not everything has been put away, it ahs been taken upstairs. I don't know about anyone else, but it takes ages to put everything back into the right boxes, so I'll be doing a bit here and there, as I'm back to work tomorrow. Apart from the one week I went back in between, with all my sick leave and annual leave, I've been off for two months, so I'm out of the habit.

As you all know :o I hate my job, but it's the only one I;ve got, so I'm just off to get my clothes ready for morning, have a bath and wash my hair, then I will carry on catching up while watching The Royal. I'm recording Lark Rise.

    Back in a bit. x
