Well I've decided that seeing as I have 3 loaves of bread in the fridge (all bought at a rediculously reduced price) that I'm going to make up my sandwiches for next week (just in case I'm called to supply) and then freeze them. Have just done a bit of research online to see what does and doesn't freeze well, so think I'm going to do:

Marmite and butter (Pure to be exact, which is dairy free)
    Tuna and tomato sauce
Tuna and cream cheese mixed together with some salt and pepper in
    Cheddar and pickle
Quorn Ham and cream cheese (this will be an experiment cos don't know if quorn ham can be frozen successfully).

I'd better write that on a scrap of paper cos I'll probably forget the fillings by the time I get downstairs. Brain is on holiday mode still.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Garden now finished for today, had fun wrestling with a bush but i won and it is now out.:rotfl: Still have loads to get done tomorrow but noticed loads of flowers coming up, snow drops, daffs and tulips.

Hex we're looking at country style in oak and a dark worktop, nothing really that fancy. I didn't think the modern look would look right here, seeing as we're up on a farm.

PF We thought at the start that b&q wouldn't be much good but a friend of the family said he'd fit it. PIL think that said friend would do a brillant job but could take him a few weeks to get it put in as he does be busy (not great as by then there will be 6 of us but we could manage if push came to shoove).

Skintscotslass we do have an Ikea in Belfast which isn't that long open and first in NI:j must go up when i get the kids back to school and see what they can do. Do you know if i would need to book an appointment or would they just see us ??

Right i should go and make a start on the list, back later to update.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Thats interesting fillings sexy -I might have to try them - I dont have to make packed lunches but might do some sandwiches for [STRIKE]easieness[/STRIKE] laziness! I have a few things in the fridge that could possibly get used up that way.
    thanks for the idea!!

    Hello all

I'm back from my travels! Have had a great time with my family but am glad to be home, you know what it's like! Very smooth drive though which makes it so much better. We got home about 1.45pm, dumped the stuff and dropped the car round to DH's parents where it lives on their drive, handy as we had a cuppa there whilst our heating kicked in! DH also sorted some pc issues for his mum (bless him, he spent ages sorting my mum's pc too as well as setting up broadband and wireless for them!)

We ended up chatting for ages before we went to sleep last night so i'm shattered...am proud of myself though as before we sat down we emptied the case and all the bags and everything is shipshape! Easy dinner and a film tonight, plus eating up the choc goodies we have left before the big diet starts tomorrow!

  • Ok, I need help!
There is barely a surface in my house that is clear-including the floors, and the dog is afraid of going to sleep just...in...case he is re-defined as a surface.
I moved into my OH old family flat several years ago with my four kids, and, even now, we are still trying to chew through everything that has left behind by his family, his old flatmates, and anyone that was moving that wanted somewhere to store things. It's a tied flat and he works for the family firm.
His mum is a complete hoarder, and so we have bags of clothing from the 70's and 80's none of which is interesting enough to put up on ebay. She won't have it at her house, but is unhappy about getting rid of it.
The flat has two completely un useable rooms due to hoarded clutter. (Broken lamps, old bills, saved newspapers oh dear oh dear oh dear) and I have accepted that if we are ever going to make it our home, I have to take responsibilty for sorting it out, because I simply cannot live like this any more.
There is no where for us to store our things (oh no, I am now ranting) so every chair in our bedroom is covered in clothes, and it is an absolute nightmare to clean, as everything gathers dust.
So I am hoping (against a tidal wave of reality) that subscribing to this thread will bring a gradual sense of order and control, which is sadly lacking at the moment.
DH is very supportive, but doesn't know where to start. He too wants our home to be our home and has struggled against nature to gather to himself some DIY skills. At the moment his best pal is a silicone sealant. He is the Silicone Sealant King.
    Ok, Off to Children's bedrooms
(Rant over) I'm really not too ranty, honest!
