she wants to say stopcock, but I think she actually means the ball valve!

You're so right - can you tell I haven't done a plumbing course? :o The thing I'm talking about is the thing you get in a cistern that has a balloon and an arm... as the tank fills, the balloon thing rises and closes the valve thingy. If the inlet is bunged up with grot, the balloon never gets to rise because no water ever gets in...

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    Best Happenings of 2008

    1. My daughter Sarah being born. She is my motivation to get up every morning and I love her more than words could ever describe.

    2. OH moving here when DD was born, we'd previously decided to continue living apart - but being together as a family has changed all our lives and i know now it was the right thing to do. It hasnt been easy but some things are worth fighting for.

    Best thing from this thread

The support I have received this year from you guys has been amazing... youve seen me through my pregnancy, my FIL being ill and then dying 4 days before my due date, sarah being born 11 days overdue , OH and I breaking up.. OH and I making up....... and so many more things you'll never know about.

All in all 2008 was probably the worst year on a whole ive ever had. But you guys not only have been there to "listen" and offer advice and support but Ive had gifts for sarah off you... ive had unexpected Christmas cards... and even offers to come help me get on top of things when ive been stressed.

You truly are an amazing bunch of people and i really cannot thank you enough for everything you have said/done in the past 12 months.

    Remarkable thing that changed me

Becoming a mum. I dont need to elaborate anymore on that.

Can you write a note for my boss saying that although I work in IT I clearly have a fabulous understanding of our core business as I obviously know ALL about plumbing?!

ooh... just in time for the repeat of todays R4 men-doing-housework book... They're on dusting today :rotfl:

    Happy New Year all :)

Want to go to bed but my dad put damp wood on the fire which is still burning  So I need to wait for that to die down a bit as I get a tad bit paranoid about leaving the fire still going when I go to bed.
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!
